Computers are continuing to get more and more powerful, but a lot of people don’t need that extra computing power that the advances in technology bring to the table. At home most people only do things like check their email, chat with friends, and other basic tasks. Dell has recognized this, and the new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 will fill that need. The Dell Inspiron Mini starts at a reasonable $349 price if you want ...

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) is now widely known to have twice lied about her strong support for the “Bridge to Nowhere.” Less well-known is her support for “another massive, widely criticized transportation project” dubbed the “Road to Nowhere.” The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein reports: The “Road To Nowhere” is a $375 million “mega-project” designed to connect Juneau to the towns of Haines and Skagway via 50 miles of new road. In a interview yesterday with ABC News, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) “has been in charge [of the Alaska National Guard] and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities.” But the Associated Press reports today that under Palin’s leadership, the Alaska National Guard has experienced a “crisis level” personnel shortage: [S]ix months ago, Air Force Maj. We have seen a few different situations where product packaging is reused as a protective sleeve or even TV stand. Commendable efforts, but the fact still remains that most people choose to toss the foam, bubble wrap or whatever else is used for cushioning your new gadget during shipping. It looks like HP realizes this and is going down a different road when it comes to product packaging for their latest laptop. Sell it in ...

“A campaign official for the Virginia Lieutenant Governor [Bill Bolling] canceled an order for 150 guidebooks to entertainment in Minneapolis-St. Paul after discovering they included a 6-8 page section for gay and lesbian nightclubs,” the Blotter reports. An aide to Bolling wrote in an e-mail to the guidebook’s publisher that such a section would be a “BIG problem.” “We simply can’t hand them out,” the aide added.

(Click to Enlarge) The Google Chrome web browser launched yesterday almost 24-hours after Google announced that it would be coming. That gave quite a few media sites enough time to built up hype for the upcoming release, but the question is whether Google was able to deliver the first time around. I tried out Google Chrome, and they definitely deserve credit for the simplicity they’ve built-in to the application. Here are some of the features ...

Pablo Corral wrote me an email after I posted this tweet about managing on-again-off-again side projects. I’m very curious about how to use Backpack to have a better experience on braindumps for side projects. I switch a lot, and my side project sometimes is off for many days, and some weeks. Can you explain more about this? It’s hard to find steady uninterrupted time for software side projects. Maybe you only have time on weekends ...

This morning on Fox News Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) cited Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R-AK) 2007 cancellation of the so-called “Bridge to Nowhere” as one reason he selected her as his running mate. McCain repeated the increasingly common right-wing myth that Palin opposed the $400 million dollar project. Host Chris Wallace did not challenge McCain’s characterization. On ABC’s This Week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) similarly argued that Palin is a reformer because she supposedly said, ...
