CenterNetworks - (20) permalink
Video hosting service Viddler has announced the launch of a new service today, 15s. The idea behind 15s is to create videos using a webcam of 15 seconds or less. The videos are then instantly sent to your Twitter buddy list. The videos also appear in your Viddler video stream. Assuming this service becomes popular, it might be good for Viddler to allow a split between regular videos and these new 15s videos. Yesterday I traveled to Philadelphia to attend the DreamIT Ventures Funding Day. Eleven startups presented their ideas and pitched their concepts for funding. Several hundred people attended the event and the event went off without a hitch. Most of the presentations were very good and I was actually quite impressed with many of the company ideas. Here is a list of the companies who presented plus a link to our coverage: Vuzit (our coverage) DropCard ...Shared by Rex (101)Contribute comment -

Last month we reviewed a Swiss-based service named Moreganize. Our Swiss reporter, Corsin, noted that the biggest competition to Moreganize would come from another Swiss-based company, Doodle. Today Doodle has announced the launch of an event planning tool as a Facebook application. It's interesting to watch the event planning category move to a crowdsourced model where polls are used to find a time and date that meets the needs of the group. Shel Holtz has put together a 30-minute video about moving Web 2.0 tools into the enterprise. I've embedded his video below. The video is pretty long but it's worth a watch to get the basics on using tools including blogs, podcasting and social networking within large companies. I tried for years to get a corporation to embrace these tools, it's very hard to get a large company to embrace change. NY-based child journal service Kidmondo has announced a partnership with another NY-based company, SharedBook.
