Toluu’s tags, totally tremendous! Today’s timesink: tagging Toluu totality! Ok, enough of that, this really is great news. Caleb Elston, Toluu’s founder, tells us that tagging was the most requested feature for Toluu. I’m very impressed with the implementation as tagging really permeates the site now, it’s feels like a true integration, not a hacked together add on. When adding tags, the auto-complete will cut down on typos. Along with tagging you’ll see better sorting ...

Before we get to the assignment for this last unit in Lighting 102, I have one more technique for you to consider when using time as a variable for your flash photos. It's very useful, because it acts as a gear multiplier for those of you who may not have as many strobes as you'd like.Given that a flash can record it's subject in an instant -- even if the exposure is spread out over ...

NETTUTS ran an article last week titled 10 Principles of the CSS Masters. The article asked several CSS and industry experts to provide advice on much-discussed CSS topics and share a trick or two. The article brought up some great points and some points I didn't quite agree with. Here are my thoughts. 1. Mark Steyn, writing in National Review, on Sarah Palin as McCain's VP pick:First, Governor Palin is not merely, as Jay describes her, "all-American", but hyper-American. What other country in the developed world produces beauty queens who hunt caribou and serve up a terrific moose stew? As an immigrant, I'm not saying I came to the United States purely to meet chicks like that, but it was certainly high on my list of priorities. And for ...

Writing in the National Review, author David Feddoso discusses Senator Obama's anti-gun positions.Denver — In 2007, Senator Barack Obama stood up for a gun owner. He endorsed Chicago Alderman Dorothy Tillman in her Democratic primary. Not only was she a gun owner, but she had even pulled a gun on her colleagues during a contentious 1991 ward redistricting hearing, according to eyewitnesses. Pity the poor, mere multimillionaire celebrity. With the increase in gas prices, some have been forced to abandon their private jetsetting. Sean "Diddy" Combs complained about the "... too high" price of gas and pleaded for free oil from his "Saudi Arabia brothers and sisters" in a YouTube video posted Wednesday. The hip-hop mogul said he is now flying on commercial airlines instead of in private jets, which Combs said had previously cost him $200,000 ...

My main advice is only go if it is absolutely beneficial - if you need the networking that will come of it, or it will help you promote your business or personal brand, or there is something you could learn from it that otherwise you couldn't find online. Also, if you're a blogger and there's something that would help you benefit your readers it can also be a good time to go. Don't just go to conferences for the sake of going though.
