Sure, there are quite a lot of interesting case mods on the web, but I don’t think anything reaches what Will Urbina has accomplished with the Cinematograph HD, his new portable custom-made box. I’m not really the type of person who would go for an overly-detailed case. I prefer classic, clean designs, and Will’s system is exactly what my dream computer would look like. Think I’m over-reacting over something that simple? Here are a few ...

Like everyone, I sometimes send messages that should have stayed in my head. Being impulsive is in the nature of human beings, and to prevent people from blundering, the only thing needed is often a bit of time. So to help users with their impulsiveness, the folks at Google Labs have released Mail Goggles, a new Gmail feature that will give you the extra time needed to think twice before sending a potentially compromising email. ...

To promote the upcoming Professional Developer Conference (PDC 2008) and announce that attendees will get a free Windows 7 pre-loaded 160GB hard drive, Microsoft has filmed the following clip, that, shall we say, will leave you with a really bad taste in the mouth. Used to advertise movie posters included in the Sunday edition of the Brazilian Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, the following 4 illustrations of long-dead movie celebrities were made using only simple fonts. The result is, shall we say, rather surprising. I’ve included the first picture below, and if you want to see the other ones, just hit the more link. [Via Walyou]

Let’s admit it, traditional chairs are usually ugly and boring, but it’s certainly not the case with this one. Designed by Brodie Neill and made out of a combination of carbon fibre and chrome, the @ Chair will show to your fellow geek friends that you really are “in” when it comes to the latest trend in Web 2.0 furniture. I’m not exactly sure how comfortable this thing is, but it certainly looks fantastic.

Even though we typically prefer healthier fair here at [GAS], we’re not immune to the tempting goodness of an occasional poutine or Krispy Kreme cheeseburger. Unfortunately, there’s just something about junk food that makes us, as “normal” human beings, forget all we’ve been told as kids about proper nutrition. Maybe it’s the impeding danger of a potential heart attack? People do so love taking a bit of risk to bring excitement into their lives. So ...

Star Wars fans rejoice, Mark Ecko has just unveiled his new collection of Star Wars-branded t-shirts and hoodies. Unfortunately, at $98 per hoodie and $38 per t-shirts, the collection is a bit pricey, but you can get $10 off + free shipping on orders ...

Once upon a time, sometime in the early 70’s, a bunch of geologists were working in the Karakum desert, right in the middle of mother Russia. So while digging a hole for God knows what reason, they stumbled on a huge natural gas deposit, and afraid that the substance might poison the air of the region, they had the brilliant idea of setting it on fire. The result? Check it out below. Located near the ...

Microsoft has launched its “I’m a PC” ad campaign last night, and compared to what they have done with their “Seinfeld and Gates” commercials, this ad really drives a point home. It seems that PC users are not at all like what Apple would like people to believe, and some of them can even be pretty darn sexy too!
