RSS stands for Really Simply Syndication. It is a format used to publish content also known as a feed. RSSmeme gets its data from various (Google Reader, Digg, FriendFeed, etc) shared RSS feeds. Wikipedia describes a meme as "a unit of cultural evolution". So RSSmeme is the current state of culture defined by RSS feeds.

What does each page show?

The main page shows you stories published in the last 24 hours sorted by the number of times they have been shared. Most Popular is just that; the most popular stories ever. Most Recent is also easy; the most recent stories regardless of how many shares.
