BBC News reports that New Zealand fishermen have caught a colossal squid that could be the largest on record, weighing in at 990lb and 33ft long. Fisheries Minister Jim Anderton said the squid, weighing an estimated 450kg (990lb),took two hours to land in Antarctic waters.
