LAist was among a couple hundred lucky fans left with goose bumps after being treated to an intimate set of music by Brian Wilson. The former Beach Boy debuted material from his brand new, Van Dyke Parks-produced album, That Lucky Old Sun backed by his energetic 10-piece band. Classic Beach Boys faves "California Girls," "I Get Around," "Good Vibrations," and more. A couple audience members were chosen to ask Wilson questions mid-set and inquired about, ...

Take Metrolink from Santa Clarita to Union Station via Google Maps After finding out about Metro's new and improved transit map earlier today, we see that Metrolink is now on Google Transit, thanks to ExperienceLA's blog. We can't directly link to routes or embed them on a website, but give it a try yourself. As for Metro and Google Transit, they're talking, last we heard. (UPDATE, 2:46 P.M.: Metro just called us and said that ...

Via Xeni Jardin at boingboing, we find that Radiohead is doing a live webcast of tonight's concert at The Bowl in Santa Barbara. "It's one of our favourite places to play; I think we've ended tours there before," Colin Greenwood wrote in an e-mail. "It's not too big, in fact it's very intimate, a small arena with a dirt floor, set in pretty countryside. It should be a special night, for lots of reasons, and ...

Remember that woman who twittered the earthquake -- from her OB-GYN's office? She was in the stirrups when it happened. Whether you think she was an oversharer or a wildly tough chick, she's been done one better. Because now someone is having a baby, twittering all the while. For all we know, other women have twittered their labor already, but this is the first friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend to do so. We think it's cool. A little weird, ...

Huevos rancheros are a classic hearty Mexican breakfast: fried corn tortillas topped with a fried egg and tomato salsa (warm or cold), along with a side of refried beans and rice. It's filling for sure -- but hardly healthy. However, with a few tweaks you can customize this delicious dish into a health-conscious, flavor-filled breakfast or lunch. Instead of frying the tortillas, bake them in the toaster until they are crisp. If fried eggs aren't ...
