Vígszínház means something like Comedy Theatre. This nice building was built in 1896. Alenka my Slovenian friend thought it was a church when she was in Budapest last time:) But no, this is not a church, this is a theatre. News on my other blogs: Impressions of China: Elephant, obviously

There are not too many bicycle roads in Budapest. Its not like Amsterdam though the movement of cyclists is stronger and stronger. This bicycle road was built like two years ago on the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street. News on my other blogs: Me and my crazy mind: Ni hao Hello

For 2008 August, the theme day in the Daily Photo family is about Metal. I took this photo on 15th of March on the Chain Bridge where we celebrated the anniversary of the 1848 revolution. This guy was doing a performance with this old iron press. Police evacuated thousands of people in central Budapest on Tuesday where experts prepared to defuse a huge World War Two bomb found on a construction site. The building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Or whatever…I mean they always change the name of ministries, so to me it remains the Belügyminisztérium:) The place you dont want to go. Unfriendly faces asking for papers are at the gate..and they are so supersecret and superimportant that they dont have time to smile..:) Did you know that the word ministry originally refers to serve?

In 2007 October I have posted about the building of Inter-Europa Bank. That was a nightshot and now I show you a daytime picture. But if you check carefully the facade you can see there is CIB now. The two banks has merged and now this beautifully renovated building on the Szabadság square belong to the CIB Bank.
