This SusyJack 2009 wall calendar at See Jane Work is just about the prettiest thing we’ve seen in a while. Made on recycled paper, each month is gorgeously designed. We love the way it is displayed here — all the months in a row on wainscoting. File this one away for a great gift idea! $34.

Hey grandpa: Careful with that iPod. Putting the earbuds up against a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator can cause it to malfunction. So say the real doctors at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, who recently finished up pushing eight different models of magnet-laden earbuds up against the pacemakers and defibrillators embedded in the chests of patients. They found that, if the 'buds are placed within 1.2 inches of a pacemaker, it will make it ...

As Tesla Motors was closing its Detroit office and laying off as many as 100 employees, a tipster spotted this metaphor for the troubled electric automaker, once the brightest light of the Valley's nascent alt-energy business: a Tesla, presumably stalled out, getting towed on Highway 92. Can you think of a better caption? Leave it in the comments. The best one will become the post's new headline. Friday's winner, on the sight of the Queen ...

Inspired by Peter Kim’s excellent blog post where he captured 234 social media marketing examples, I’ve set up a wiki so that Canadian examples of social media marketing and PR tactics can be easily added and searched by organization type, tools used and language. Go ahead and check it out, add the examples you know or have worked on yourself and help build a repository of Canadian leadership in the social media space that will ...

Montgomery County Police say they have tentatively identified the two bodies found in Renee Bowman's freezer as two of Bowman's adopted daughters. They also released this undated photo of Jasmine Nicole Bowman, who would now be 9, and Minnet Cecila Bowman, who would be 11. A family friend made the identification, though as the Post points out, it's not yet an official identification. Still, police don't expect to discover the bodies belonged to anyone else ...

Images from Science In its latest issue, Science, in partnership with the National Science Foundation, has revealed the winners and honorable mentions of its always eye-popping International Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge. My favorite, and, as it so happened, the winner of the photography category, was Mario De Stefano's "The Glass Forest" (sub. required) -- a set of images of the diatom Licmophora ehrenbergii captured by a scanning electron micro...
