In introducing the minimalist white iDesk, Giles Turnbull cries "Here’s one for the ZOMG THERE MUST BE NO CABLES VISIBLE types among you. Yes, you know who you are." He's talking about us, certainly. However, for this chunk of white acrylic with an integrated docking tray , one must pay $3,000. How does "No," sound, iDesk? iDesk [Product Page] Another zen Mac desk [CoM]

If I were to tell you that I have wished a thousand times to cut out all the background noise while on a commute, I am wrong. The wish count is actually in the order of millions. The noise pollution in my erstwhile “garden” city has increased so much in the recent months that I have also given up my favorite pasttime of reading a book while I am traveling within the city, as it ...

The Apple iPhone has many practical uses. Owners employ their magical machine for just about everything from taking photos or surfing the Internet. Many treat their jack-of-all electronics with the tender loving care they would treat a newborn babe. In other words, they would never use it as a coaster. (You wouldn’t balance a beer on an infant either.) Luckily, Brazil’s Meninos Design has the cure for such slightly inhumane inklings. Their iPhone Icon coasters ...

After reading about the crapgadget Bold dock on Engadget I was glad to find an official one available for sale. I didn’t even realize that those little weird things on the bottom corners of the Bold were charging contacts… I was so used to the gold colored ones on the previous generation devices. As usual it only charges and does not sync but it really makes the slick new clock on the Bold stick out. ...

Phone charms tend to rather soft and fluffy adornment owned by prepubescent girls with too much time on their hands. This phone charm would definitely NOT appeal to that dynamic, but you might find that boys start getting involved. The blood drip phone charm is very hospital like and with Halloween lurking round the corner it's pretty seasonal as well.

It's amazing what you can do with a photo printer and a laser cutter these days, isn't it? That's all it took to create these incredibly realistic skeleton keys from Denver, Colorado steampunk crafter and Etsy seller Porkchop Scottie. You could mass them in an antique metal bowl for a Halloween-y accent, mount them in a shadow box for a homemade art piece, or even hand them out to trick-or-treaters or as party favors at your ...

This is the most hardass mouse I've ever seen. It's a mouse stuffed inside of an actual grenade shell (that's sadly plastic, I was a little overexcited after watching Rambo the other night). Sure, it's a crappy Targus mouse lurking underneath its rippled casing. And you know it's goddamn uncomfortable. But that's part of the point. When your pasty, sweaty hand is gripping this instrument of death turned into a cuddly gadget, enduring the minor ...

I like fall. I like switching wardrobes, and seeing if I can still fit into last years favorites (this is good - I haven’t gained weight!) I like buying a few new clothes, some new accesories (and the colors this year are wonderful, misty greys, bright fall leaves colors, and some old classics like black and camel). Add in some rich plums, glowing emeralds, and the like, and fall is as colorful as summer, and ...

This makeup kit will make you look like a movie star. It just so happens that movie star is The Joker. You have to admit that if you are looking to turn to a life of crime, he is not a bad role model. Take history into account, though, and avoid the Batman if at all possible. That would not be likely to turn out well for you. Product Page (£6.29, about $13)

Normally my gadgets run out of juice at the most inopportune times, so it’d be a bit agitating for me to have to play with a yo-yo in order to charge them up again. But if I were a yo-yo enthusiast to begin with, the iYo would almost certainly be fully charged. See, the iYo concept uses induction to charge a battery inside of the apparatus. You simply plug a USB-chargeable device into the iYo’s ...

Always had something against Darth Vader and his many Stormtrooper cronies? Why not denigrate them to the lowest forms of consumer electronics by decapitating their shrunken heads and turning those into nifty Star Wars phone flashers? Now if you're in a way-too-noisy cantina, or if you're phone is on silent, the head of the Dark Lord (or Stormtrooper No. 37291018) will spin 'round and 'round to make sure you don't miss your call. How droll. ...

If you're concerned about your RFID-chipped credit cards being skimmed, you might want to consider shielding them. DIFRwear makes a wallet with the shielding already included, and now roguewallet in Maine has introduced its own RFID-shielded version, with a fin-shaped design so it fits better in your front pocket to thwart pickpockets. Unfortunately, it's also $50, compared to $20 for the more conventional looking DIFRwear hip-pocket design. (Both are FIPS 201 compliant, if that means ...
