If you want the basics on Drupal, you could do no better than to spend some time combing through the project’s website. Actually, scratch that, the one thing you could do better than combing through the website would be to grab the software, install it, and mess around with it for a bit. It’s easy to use, robust, and super-highly configurable. Once installed, it’s pretty easy to get a feel for the software (especially if ...

Kristi Burton is a 21-year-old law student and a passionate crusader against women's reproductive rights. Burton spearheaded an initiative — started last year — to get fertilized eggs recognized as people for the purpose of giving them their inalienable rights under Colorado's constitution. That initiative is now Amendment 48 and is on the ballot in Colorado tomorrow. But, as Newsweek reports, some of the right-wingers you'd expect to be backing Burton's effort are not so ...

Egyrészt amiatt, hogy nagyjából feltérképezi, miért bénázik a webes tartalompiacon az a multikiadó, ami a nyomtatott szektorban a legnagyobb magyarországi spílerek közé tartozik (főleg magazinokat és megyei napilapokat adnak ki), másrészt mert a cikk lényegében egyetlen interjú függő beszédbe átírva – ...

Johnson & Johnson has paid out over $68.7 million in private settlements in Ortho Evra birth-control related claims. The Public Citizen’s Health Research Group is petitioning the FDA to take it off the market. The most common complaints among users of the contraceptive patch that adheres to the skin are blood clots in the legs, blood clots in the lungs, and hearts attacks/strokes. But hey, at least you don't have a baby. [Bloomberg]

Recently one of my health writing bosses approached me about her own daughter’s birth control options. I was honored to be asked for my advice, and I thought that I would share here what I shared in an email. “As a first-time birth control user, I’d recommend she use condoms and a birth control pill. The pill was a “reminder” to me that I had to use another method to be safe from STIs, and ...

I read an interesting story about June’s news on the “pregnancy pacts that occurred at Gloucester High School. The whole story just boggles my mind; but that’s me. Do you remember the story? 17 teen girls from one high school ended up pregnant - so that they could be pregnant together. Anyway, the whole point of this blog was that ‘Pregnancy Pact’ Prompts High School to Hand out Birth Control. I am encouraged that a ...

These organizations are using flawed logic at best and, at worse, no scientific facts. As a woman of strong faith and strong mind, I urge these groups to realize ...
