That’s Kokoron-chan, a Japanese mascot to inspire people to donate blood. Leave it to the Japanese to spice up a blood donation drive with a cute (and bloodthirsty) mascot that looks a lot like the Kool-Aid Man. Pink Tentacle has more of Japan’s blood mascots: Link

"Let the water and the blood, from your wounded side which flowed be for sin the double cure, cleanse me from its guilt and power." The song gets it right, but the commentaries miss it. I've looked at a huge amount of commentaries on John and Zechariah and have not found this link. When water comes out of Jesus side, the water and the blood are not primarily a medical evidence. They are a fulfillment of ...

An authentic vampire-killing kit from the 1800's recently sold at auction for nearly $15,000 to a pale man in a black cape. "This is a complete kit that comes fully equipped - stakes, mirrors, a gun with silver bullets (because where there are Vampires there might be Werewolves), crosses, a Bible, holy water, candles and garlic." The whole kit is housed in a beautifully decorated American walnut carrying-case. You know, because vampires hate nut trees, ...

This looks like the beginning of a George Romero's film, but it's real. It seems like one of the US Army's X-Files technologies is coming to us sooner than most skeptics expected: DARPA is developing now a portable blood farming system that could infinitely produce universal donor red cells from umbilical cord blood, right there in the battlefield. And yes, there's exactly where things go really wrong and soldiers are transformed into mad, blood-seeking, fresh-human-biting ...

Fanboys tend to consider Thomas Jane to be a top-notch badass, and this new teaser clip for GIVE 'EM HELL, MALONE would seem to be an argument in favor. The noir-styled shoot-'em-up stars Jane as an infamous hired gun who gets double-crossed on a job, and finds himself caught in a web of intrigue and bullets involving a sexy dame, a mysterious briefcase, a notorious mob boss and a whole bunch of lead-magnet goons. The ...

I do so love movies with giant bugs. And I love the SciFi channel, much to my husbands dismay (apparently the channel does nothing to stimulate brain activity. Go figure.) I especially love when the Sci-Fi channel comes out with an “original” movie that portrays giant bugs in such an unrealistic manner that it transcends comedy and borders hysteria. Like it did with their original movie Ice Spiders. Throw in a couple used up actors ...
