Will Braden, the writer behind the short film Henri, recently featured on Neatorama, is also a composer of cat-themed haiku. Here are a few samples: oh, I scratched the couch does that upset you? you mad? you had me neutered I love to eat grass though it makes me sick each time like you and vodka I lounge in the sun savoring the morning scents have fun at your job Link

Addictionary is a wonderful website for those who love weird, obscure, and well, made-up words. It’s kind of like Urban Dictionary, but less gritty and dirty feeling when you visit. One of my favorite section is the There Oughta Be a Word, where you submit your own made-up words to describe a situation in the challenge. Link - via popurls

Penguin is selling thirteen sets of classic books, with brand new covers. Several of the sets come with posters. My favorite is the Sherlock Holmes collection. You can see all of the books here. Previously: The origin of Sherlock Holmes.

Michael Minelli wants you to know he’s not a douchebag, or at least, he doesn’t think so. That’s why he’s suing the author and publisher of the book “Hot Chicks With Douchebags” for including him. The libel lawsuit should be interesting, as the lawyers will have to establish the relative “douchebaggery” of Minelli. I think the prosecution might have a hard time after seeing a picture of Minelli, who claims the book has caused him ...

This is fantastic: a series of vintage "brain maps" as created by one Dr. Alesha Sivartha in the late 1800s (published in his metaphysical book The Book of Life: The Spiritual and Physical Constitution of Man). You don’t have to believe or understand all the New Age-y stuff to appreciate the weirdness of the lithographs: Link - via Quiddity

I was told not to expect a human whirlwind, but when Mark Zuckerberg walks into the room there is barely a breeze. He is 24, on the short side, shy in the way that short, ginger-haired people often are, and he walks with his head down, as if he is carrying a heavy burden, such as being the richest young person in the world.Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, has one thing that most geeky-looking guys ...

Apparently created for police detectives, construction workers, or anyone with zero sense of fashion and/or shame, the e-Volve Gadget Shoulder Holster is just that: A shoulder holster which, according to the manufacturer, "is designed to evolve and adapt to the reality of constant state of change in personal electronics by enabling you to wear your present and future gadgets". Yes, it does all that. It has been engineered to "access your gadgets quickly," like if ...

A fake copy of The Times was being handed out to commuters at subway stations in the city this morning. Updated, 11:20 a.m. Sorry, folks, the paper isn’t free. And the Iraq war isn’t over, at least not yet. In an elaborate hoax, pranksters distributed thousands of free copies of a spoof edition of The New York Times on Wednesday morning at busy subway stations around the city, including Grand Central Terminal, Washington and Union ...
