Well, that's a lie. Actually, no it's not. *brandishing crowbar* At least not if I have something say about it! Anyway, the LHC, which was thought to only be down until the spring, may not kill us all until late 2009, or even 2010. We're saved (but still be wary of terrorists)! According to spokesperson James Gillies, the complicated repairs can be simplified into modest Plan A and Plan B approach. Plan A is a ...

Well, having traced my electrical problem to the alternator after charging the battery and managing to run it until flat, I started pricing up a replacement.Turns out a standard Nissan alternator for the Nissan NX 1.6 carb engine is £190. Not good.Local garage offered to get one and fit it for about the same.Local autofactor cost about the same, but then added a surcharge to put it over £200 and more than a new original ...

There are many lessons that marketers can “borrow” from the IT industry. “Open source”, for example, has changed the way that many of us conceive of ideas – they are no longer considered the proprietary property of one company/business (or they aren’t in most cases) – after all, ideas are the easy part, execution where it gets difficult. (In fact, we can really wonder whether ideas EVER were owned or whether this was just a ...

Yes, another iPhone/iPod touch dock speaker that looks like the iPhone or iPod touch. But the Logic3 i-Station is not any dock because, grab onto your underpants, it can rotate. Rotate. Ro-ta-te, people, so you don't have to "strain your neck," like the press release says. You don't believe me? I'm not surprised. Check out the explicatory diagram by yourself. See. Vertical. Horizontal. Now vertical, the horizontal. Simple as that. And like Logic3 says for ...

What’s one of the scariest sounds you can hear come out of your computer? How about the telltale clicking of a broken hard drive? Once you hear that click-click-click you know it’s game over. Note that the site has been Slashdotted, so be gentle on ...
