A study that supposedly exposed the "myth" of Obama's remarkable "small donor" fundraising has drawn mass coverage this week in major newspapers and top web sites. Over at E&P, Greg Mitchell suggests that the spinning of the study is the real "myth." It's here.

That is the only valid conclusion I can draw from these ballots from the Minnesota recount. (þ: Democracy in America) All hail our new overlords, the Lizard People, or at least the folks who vote for them—which may be worse. Mind you, Frequent Commenter Scott and I used to cast write-in ballots for one of our professors for Lafayette County (Miss.) Sheriff, and I’ve run half-assed campaigns for public office twice, so I’m hardly in ...

I do plan on doing more of these soon. Promise… Those of you who are interested in these things may have noticed that the low-selling DC comic Blue Beetle has been cancelled. This is hardly going to be a surprise to anyone - it had been bumbling along around the bottom of the sales charts almost since its inception, and writer John Rogers had left a few months ago to be replaced by Matt Sturges ...

This is just my advice, and is actually a very nebulous thing to answer. I'll tell you what has worked for me over the years. I'm just breaking the surface, and still learning from my own advice. My (sage?) Advice * Read all you can find! - the Internets have exploded with all sorts of information on electronics projects, kits, you name it. I'll have some stuff in the reading/websites section below with some specifics ...

Google's highly anticipated update of its Google Mobile App for the iPhone (iTunes link) finally arrived in the App Store this afternoon. The app now uses voice recognition to translate voice commands into search queries. The new version also gives you easy access to all your other Google apps, though the star of this update is obviously the voice recognition, which, in our tests, was amazingly accurate. Note: the description in iTunes has not been ...

You may notice if you sign into your admin account to manage your services that the UI is, well, somewhat radically different. We've been working hard over the last couple of weeks on designing something that is more intuitive and easier-to-use for new users (and prettier and more "2.0"). Specifically:User, queue, and gateway management is now all on one page, so that it is easier to view your entire service structure at a glance. The old ...

A puppy in a Santa hat. (Credit: Getty Images.) This week, Conde Nast and Estee Lauder joined Marc Jacobs and Hearst Corp. in canceling what were previously lavish holiday parties. They’re not alone. News Corp., which owns The Wall Street Journal, canceled its company-wide bash this year in favor of allowing its business units to plan their own parties as they see fit. Other parties which have been axed include those at ABC News, Viacom ...
