We're not sure if this is a big psychological level or not, but if we think it's especially noteworthy that Citi broke down through $10 then it's worth pointing out that Berkshire Hathaway fell below $100,000 for a brief time today. The last time they were there was late 2006, which is quant -- only a 2-year low for a financial? The stock ended at $102,800.

Following the ever-industrious CC Chapman's latest podcast, 10 Social Media Things in 10 Minutes, I began to wonder--if someone wanted to explore social media just for an hour at lunch, what would the best options be? What would I recommend someone do to dip a toe in the waters without overwhelming her? CC's list is fascinating, and he kicked me in the pants to come up with my own. Some crossover, to be sure--what do ...

Given that the SIU has been toothless for years and pretty much always backs the police even when they shouldn't, are we really surprised at this?

Jeffrey Hart, one of the intellectual founders of modern American conservatism, founder of the Dartmouth Review, and a private source of much intellectual solace these past few years, makes it all explicit:Republican President George W. Bush has not been a conservative at all, either in domestic policy or in foreign policy. He invaded Iraq on the basis of abstract theory, the very thing Burke warned against. Bush aimed to turn Iraq into a democracy, “a ...

My drive time to work has changed dramatically since I started working with Griffin. My average drive time to the office is about 15 minutes now, it use to be between 30 to 45 minutes. While I’m happy to be polluting a little less, spending less on gas, and spending more time with my family in the morning, I’m also falling behind on my podcast listening. I *need* my podcast time. Given my limited listening ...

Social Networks Corvida from SheGeeks did a guest post over at Chris Brogan’s blog about how as the size of her social network has expanded on twitter, she felt the quality of the conversations she was having deteriorated. I think this is something many people have experienced, whether it’s on Twitter, Facebook, or other social networks. I’ve experienced this, as have many of my friends. And no one seems to have found a reasonable solution. ...
