The most recent official count of Linux distros put the number at 'one hell of a lot'.This is good because it gives us plenty of choice, and choice provides freedom and freedom is good, right? Maybe it can feel as if there's a little too much choice at times, but there's no doubt that the huge variety of distributions makes Linux more interesting. However, trying different distros isn't as easy as experimenting with a new ...

Yes, We Can. And Yes We Did. What an amazing and historic night. Never have I witnessed so many people, all over the country, expressing such hope, optimism, and pride all at the same moment. If this mood tonight in America is a sign of what's to come, the future might -- in spite of everything -- be better than the last eight years. What an incredible night to be an American. Ian from KithKin was kind enough to send me some preview photos of British designer Tamsin Van Essen's new work. 'Contamination' is a series of ceramic cups whose appearance portrays the growth and multiplication of bacterial colonies such as cholera and e-coli. Van Essen's work will be part of an exhibition titled KithKin Presents, which will run during London Design Week in September. Thanks Ian!

The performers include several noted composer-pianists: Sergei Taneyev, a pupil of Tchaikovsky’s who played the premiere of his Second Concerto; Anton Arensky, playing ...

It seems as if there are two kinds of sports fan. The fan with their team, and the fan who loves the sport and has a favorite team. This couldn't be any more evident with the upcoming World Series. This series is about to be incredible. It'll be real solid baseball with MVPs and soon-to-be superstars. But the only thing people talk about is how low the ratings will be. That's because people aren't really ...

Wow. I've heard about this, but it's pretty disgusting to actually see it. I wonder if any Democrats would denounce this. I'll probably be wondering for a long time.
