BoomTown likes charts, so here are two recent ones from comScore and Nielsen about online video usage for November of 2008. The pair have different results. But, overall, it’s up big time, year over year (40 percent!), as viewers have really started to up their time spent watching videos on the Web and also the number of videos they watch. Google (GOOG) property YouTube ruled, no surprise, at 40.3 percent share of videos, according to ...

One way to think about online video is to consider how big a chunk it takes out of our daily lives. The amount of time U.S. Internet users spend watching video is up an impressive 40 percent year over year. Watchers tuned in for 273.1 minutes of online video in the month of November 2008, up from 195 minutes in November 2007, according to comScore. That’s not the only measure that went up. The number ...

TechCrunch reported today the Top Social Media Sites of 2008 (Facebook Still Rising) with a plug for Facebook that sounds like a movie (Facebook Rising). Having access to Comscore, I’m well aware of how effortless it is to pull such charts together, so here’s a few more. If we discount “Blogger” which is not really a Social Network, but is Social Media - the reach of Facebook is going way up - close to 20% ...

That made sense, because the site had shown a huge spike due to interest in the “Saturday Night Live” Sarah Palin clips, and those became less interesting after Election Day. But here are data that show that Hulu’s post-Sarah letdown may not have been as bad as ...
