by Brian Solis Guy Kawasaki continues to expand his Alltop empire with the addition of Frienderati, an aggregated activity dashboard of the top 100 names and their Friendfeed updates. Similar to Alltop’s Twitterati list, which was designed to help people discover important and active voices on Twitter, Frienderati helps those new to FriendFeed shortcut to the most popular and/or insightful contributors. Thank you Guy for including me in the list. Yuval Atzmon over at User21 ...

Literati means intelligentsia… Intelligentsia means…a social class of people engaged in complex mental and creative labor directed to the development and dissemination of culture, encompassing intellectuals and social groups close to them Guy Kawasaki’s at it again…he rolled out his latest list of the “Top” in a medium, this time FriendFeed…his Frienderati lists ~100 people on FriendFeed and their 5 most recent entries…I actually follow a number of the people on his list… But something’s ...

In my last post I asked Do We Need Rankings For Everything? The rant was based on the new API for PostRank from AideRss, the launching of Frienderati.Alltop and the ensuing discussion. Yep, it was one of those good, old-fashioned, “I am a cranky old man” rants. Thankfully, Melanie Baker from AideRss beat me with a stick in the comments. The main thing I had ignored was the “business side” of rankings and why bloggers ...

This weekend and over the course of yesterday, Guy Kawasaki’s Alltop made the news for creating a new set of RSS feeds added to the site from FriendFeed. They called this the “Frienderati,” and it was a list of FriendFeed members as determined by a mystery algorithm worth following on FriendFeed. Stan covered this here at Mashable, but here was how Guy Kawasaki described its’ debut: I recently signed up for Friendfeed, and I had ...

I started this post late last week after PostRank was launched as an API. Conveniently enough, Alltop launched Frienderati today, which caused some interesting discussions on FriendFeed and gave my post a little more relevance. Why is it that people feel the need to rank things? Is it the simplicity of looking at things in a list? Is it the desire to know what is going on? Or is it the desire to be popular? ...

Guy Kawasaki's A-list generator Alltop has spawned a new A-list: Frienderati is an aggregated feed of the latest five entries from the 101 most followed users of FriendFeed. My browser can't find an RSS feed for the page yet, but I'm sure there'll be one. Just as I'm sure someone will figure out how to sort this thing by popularity rather than alphabetically. While you're at it, can you strip out the posts and just ...

The A-list is dead! Long live the A-list! Long live the — ! … ahem. Guy “I can’t believe somewhat someone bought Truemors” Kawasaki has added yet another subdomain to his endless list of Alltop (what popURLs would be if someone decided to aggregate feeds of all kinds) categories, and this one is the top 100 (or so) “friendsters” on Friendfeed. Its called Frienderati. As Erick Schonfeld notes, we don’t really know how the top ...

Using AllTop’s new Frienderati page might help you find Becky McCray, a small town business professional who focuses on how the web can help out small business owners, especially those in rural areas. You might learn from browsing Frienderati that Becky sees things differently than others. And because it’s a feed from FriendFeed, you’ll see what she posts for pictures, how she uses Twitter, and whatever else she’s attached to the service to track. She’s ...
