Our friends at Kotaku managed to get their hands on the GameStop Black Friday circular and, not surprisingly, bundles are the major theme here. Some of the better deals include a .99 cent price tag for Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2 (after purchase of Rock Band game or bundle over $50), Madden PSP Entertainment Pack or Ratchet and Clank Pack for $200, several Xbox 360 bundles (Arcade, Pro and Elite), the World of Warcraft ...

A friendly GameStop tipster just dropped what we're told is the game-sellers Black Friday sales catalog on us. The dozen-page circular is packed with borderline deals including Xbox 360 sales bundles, deep discounts on some games (.99 cents for Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2 anyone?) and peripherals. Highlights that I noticed: DS and Wii The under $20 Wii games The free Nerf gun, with Nerf Blaster $30 for Guitar Hero on Tour PSP and ...

What were you most afraid of in High School? Getting turned down by that Cheerleader at the prom? Arriving at school naked, just before the big test you never studied for? Or, was it Mom and Dad finding all of your nudie-mags whilst looking for gift ideas? Look inside to see which terror Gamestop chose to highlight in their latest ad campaign. According to the ad, your parents are going to find out exactly what ...

Filed under: Sports Life is tough for the video game sports fan, what with having to buy full-priced new games, featuring only incremental improvements, every 12 months. If EA and GameStop go through with a plan they've been consumer testing, though, the fan's burden could become a bit lighter.According to a SmashPad tipster, a marketing research ad touts the EA Sports Season Pass, which would, for a $20 enrollment fee, cut 33 percent from the ...

It is an advertising truism that Sex Sells, but so does fear. Whether it is fear of human odours fuelling deodorant marketing or fear of Terror selling a war, manipulating our darkest fears is a surefire way to get the public to sign on the dotted line. Full marks then for Gamestop's latest ad which is all about the terror, with just a hint of sex underneath some TV-friendly pixellation. The horror.. THE HORROR. The ...

Soren Johnson — who wrote the code for Civilization 3 and 4 and is now a designer for EA Maxis, working on spore — spoke a few words of charity on behalf of used games and resellers on his personal blog this week. It puts this emerging debate in several thoughtful contexts. Notably, the resale of games increases the perception that they have monetary value, and that is a powerful concept that connects more gamers ...

Editor's note: Due to a busy travel schedule, Deborah Meier composed this entry before Tuesday's presidential election. Dear Diane, I'm on the road and writing you before Election Day (even though this won't be posted until after the big day). But I can't wait until Wednesday to respond since I'll be on my way to the Coalition of Essential Schools' Annual Fall Forum in Charlotte, N.C., on Wednesday. The Line As We Approach Launch I pulled up to Gamestop last night just after 10:15 PM to see about fifteen people milling around outside the store. After fumbling with my bikelock in the 46 degree weather for a few minutes, I finally joined the crowd and jumped in on my first discussion, QQing about Retribution Paladins and how badly they need to be nerfed. Not that anyone would care two hours from now, when ...
