2008. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: calendar, desktop, gmail, GMDesk, google, google reader 更多Web2.0资讯:Web2.0 News | Web2.0 Gallery | Mobile2.0资讯 | 卖链接赚美元 Feed enhanced by Better Feed from Ozh

Filed under: Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Web services, Google, Freeware, web 2.0 Some of the applications I use most often aren't desktop apps, they're web apps that I access through a web browser. Gmail, Google Reader, and Google Docs, for example. GMDesk is an Adobe AIR-based client for these and other Google-based services. It's based on the idea that you shouldn't have to fire up a web browser just to check your email. The concept is sound, ...

All platforms with Adobe AIR: Free desktop application GMDesk provides quick access to Google services in a standalone window separate from your browser. GMDesk separates Gmail, Google Reader, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Maps from the rest of your web browsing, and provides keyboard shortcuts to switch between them (Ctrl+ or Cmd+1 through 6). You can't install browser add-ons like Better Gmail or Better GReader in GMDesk, and currently it displays too-small text in ...

After having tried this for a few hours towards the end of today, I must say this is indeed a very useful tool. Now I don't have to worry about browser crashes, which tab did my e-mail/reader/calendar go or mess with conflicting Google Account vs. Hosted Apps sessions/log-outs!

Win; Mac; Linux It’s always surprised me that Google has a few desktop applications (Picasa, Google Desktop Search, Google Talk, etc…), but for one reason or another they don’t have any programs that leverage some of their other big services. Having a program for Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and several others would all make a lot of sense in my book. We’ve seen programs like Mozilla’s Prism that aims to convert a website into ...

Can Google charge for a service it mostly gives away — and that doesn't always work? That's the experiment it's conducting with Google Apps. Gmail, the email service at the heart of Google Apps, went down three times earlier this month, and Google has sent a note to customers who pay for its "Premier Edition" — typically colleges and small businesses. As Fortune notes, Google hasn't had much success breaking into the large business accounts ...

Filed under: Windows, Macintosh, Linux, E-mail, Productivity, Google, Freeware, How-Tos, iPhoneOne of the hardest aspects of managing email is keeping track of sent messages where a reply is expected. Do you have this problem? I know I do. Some of the people I correspond with are completely reliable, and I know that if I send them something, I will get a reply within 24 hours and often sooner. But some of my other regular correspondents ...
