After having tried this for a few hours towards the end of today, I must say this is indeed a very useful tool. Now I don't have to worry about browser crashes, which tab did my e-mail/reader/calendar go or mess with conflicting Google Account vs. Hosted Apps sessions/log-outs!

Last week, I received a message from Guy: "I LOVE Google Calendar! But... I wish I could set a reminder for a month in advance, instead of a measly 2 weeks. That is the only thing holding Calendar back from being truly awesome!"Thankfully for Guy, Google Calendar's event reminders are even more customizable: now you can choose any period of time between 5 minutes and 4 weeks. This works not only for the default notifications ...

Google Calendar is a great, if not the best available tool to share calendars. However, it’s tedious to edit and keep track of it via the web interface. In saving time, integration is your best friend. Naturally, there is a vast amount of addons and tools to sync, integrate and simply work more efficiently with Google Calendar. For example you can sync it with mobile devices like the Blackberry or iPhone using GoogleSync. Then you ...

Software and webapps rock at being calendars: You can update them from any computer or your phone, they don't have to triple-check when Columbus Day is, and they never get coffee stains on them. But your online or desktop calendar can do a lot more than just hold dates and tell you about them. Free programs and tweaks can integrate appointments into your email app, embed a whole-month view into your wallpaper, schedule birthdays without ...

When formerly-free phone-to-text service Jott announced they would start charging for its smartest functions this week, it caught a lot of fans by surprise. Good, free things can't last forever, but once you get used to adding calendar appointments and to-do items, emailing or texting friends, and even blogging directly from a phone call, it's hard to imagine losing those tools. While $4/month isn't an unfair price, many folks just don't shell out for web-based ...

Why are we fostering this web services should be free mindset? On the other hand, subscribing and micropayments to a bunch of services can feel like nickel/diming.
