Tip: stop the Tools menu from hiding in 1.20 (1)
on Tentacolor (4) permalinkWonder where the “Tools” menu went in Second Life viewer 1.20? Linden Lab decided, in the interest of reducing the number of menus presented to the user, to make it only visible when the “Build” window is open (Ctrl-3). This change was rather unpopular, and Linden Lab has, thankfully, decided to revert it in a future version. But in the meantime, we’re stuck with it — or we would be, except there’s a quick and ...Shared by kidmarmite (117)Contribute comment

10 Futuristic User Interfaces (261)
on Smashing Magazine (5365) permalinkGood user interfaces are crucial for good user experience. It doesn’t matter how good a technology is — if we, designers, don’t manage to make user interface as intuitive and attractive as possible, the technology will hardly reach a breakthrough. To gain the interest in a new product or technology, users need to understand its advantages or find themselves impressed or involved. 10 Principles Of Effective Web Design | How-To | Smashing Magazine (8)
