Apple rolled out iPhone 2.2 early this morning, as expected. And, as expected, it boasts enhancements to the device’s Maps application, improvements to its telephone functionality, and support for over-the-air podcast updates, as well as a few other interesting additions.

That was fast. It's barely Nov. 21 and the iPhone 2.2 update is here, all 246MB of it, as promised. According to a Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information press release, the eagerly expected iPhone 2.2 operating system update will arrive tomorrow, November 21. The upcoming iPhone 2.2 software update, currently in beta, has already been jailbroken by the iPhone dev team.
