I made this image during a weekend off from my 2006 Digital WakeUp Call tour. We were traveling up the west coast - from San Diego to Seattle, Washington - and caught up with friends in Oregon. We took a day trip to the Oregon coast just past Cannon Beach - the views were tremendous! I did a slight “fiddle” in Photoshop to perk up the blacks, but this is very close to exactly what ...

As part of my blog post series Lunar Impact, Get Ready for it!, my last post Perspective on the Moon, Perspective on Earth focused exclusively on visual perspective. One other aspect of perspective that comes to light in relation to the Apollo astronauts landing on the moon… temporal perspective. By stepping foot on the moon Neil Armstrong did something no other creature, let alone human, has done in modern time… be the first living thing ...

Bruce Munro’s gorgeous fiber optic ‘Field of Light‘ installation is inspired by the beautiful displays of flowers that burst forth from Australia’s desert landscape. The UK based lighting designer conceived of the installation 15 years ago while driving across Stuart Highway on a road trip through Australia. Every night he would stop to rest at roadside campsite, where green grass and surreal sculptures struck a stark contrast to the surrounding red desert. Munro was fascinated ...

To its fiercest devotees, one of the best things about the BlackBerry is its carefully designed physical keyboard, which the skilled BlackBerry addict can play like a violin. These folks scorn Apple’s popular iPhone, whose keyboard is virtual and must be operated by tapping on the screen. But, on Friday, Verizon Wireless and Research in Motion (RIMM), the BlackBerry’s maker, will do the unthinkable: They will introduce a BlackBerry model without a physical keyboard, one ...

Fox's remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still is poised to invade movie theaters Dec. 12, and the hope is that it will be a big hit, like the original movie was when it premiered in 1951. The classic movie's success surprised everyone, especially star Patricia Neal, who played the young mom, Helen: She has said she couldn't keep a straight face when trying to recite some of the hokey lines.

Dear Hollywood, not every thing should be "updated" (remade, re-imagined,etc) some times, and I cant believe I am going to write this; some times movies are perfect just the way they are or were (George Lucas) and I realize this maybe asking a bit much but how about an original idea?
