I’m a recent Mac switcher. The trick was done with the iPod nano I got as a gift for my graduation back in 2006. Since then, I’ve bought my first laptop ever (a Macbook, 1st gen), replaced my ageing PC this year with a shiny new iMac and recently bought an iPhone 3G. Am I an Apple fangirl? No. I just happen to love Apple products. Really love them. Not all of them, but most. ...

Oprah totally screwed me over once. Damn her. It was the Gratitude Journal. Are you familiar with this concept? Let me tell you how it works. Every day, before you go to bed, you write down in a special little book all the stuff you are grateful for that day. You write and write and write every day, filling page after page with all the stuff that happens to you each and every day that ...

I have jsut registered to vote. Having become an American citizen a few weeks ago I delighted that at last I have a chance to express my opinion, small though it may be, in the American political system. However I am really struggling too. The cost of electing a president in America is enormous. The Center for Responsive Politics estimates that candidates already raised half a billion dollars in 2007. By the time the election ...

There is no shortage of research pointing to the fact that the web still isn't nearly as 'social' as it might seem to those of us who live and work in marketing, technology and social media. I've blogged about this before. Just because blogging, vlogging, virtual worlds, microblogging and mobile social software might be woven into the very fabric of our day-to-day lives, that doesn't mean that any of these things have actually mainstreamed. We're ...

Here’s a list of 52 meditations, one for each week of the year. I sit silently each Sunday evening before bedtime and repeat one meditation as a mantra in my mind. I get lost in thought for a little while and then I fall asleep. This weekly ritual has helped me keep things in perspective. There are people in this world that would die for me. There are people in this world I would die ...

Decision making is a process, meaning there is a definitive sequence of steps to go through to arrive at the result. You’ve heard of our common traits: we modify the dress code, we surf Facebook at work, we get in late, want to leave early, and we take a long lunch somewhere in there. All ...
