This isn’t enough data to declare Microsoft’s much derided Live Cashback search product a winner, but the first full month after it launched (June) shows a 15% gain in search volume v. the previous month, according to Comscore. livesearch cashback is getting closer to the more participatory advertising model I've been dreaming about, but only in the sense that consumers will get rewarded for using certain ad-sponsored services. There is still a lot more to be done.

Yeah MSFT has lot of money to spend out. Question is - is this scaleable? How much money they are spending to acquire users? will they user stay for longer period ?? For now it seems google will win the users as soon MSFT stop its cash back program.

In June Microsoft said that they would soon be aggregating the Windows Live services into a single downloadable installer to give users an easy way to access the suite of services.
