Posted by Mr. March 這對 Second Life 來說真不是一個好消息。Google在本周二推出了一項新的免費服務叫做 Lively ，使用者經由安裝 plug-in 在 IE 或 Firefox 上就可以使用 Gmail 的帳號免費使用，而目前只有提供給 Windows 的使用者使用。 在 Lively 中，使用者可以創建一個虛擬人物(可以是人或者是其他生物)，並且打扮他，然後與其他的虛擬人物進行各種互動，包含揮手，擁抱和哭泣等等，當用滑鼠在特定物件上點擊時，也會有一些其他行為像是做到椅子上，或是跳躍等等動作；或是在虛擬實境中的虛擬電視裡和其他人看 YouTube 的影片，還有分享照片等等。 有別於 Second Life 的單一世界，Lively 將整個世界分成好幾個房間，使用者可以創建一個自己喜歡的虛擬實境的房間，然後邀請其他使用者來做客，或是將這個虛擬房間直接嵌入到網頁之中；房間的樣子和擺設，裡面的東西愛怎麼擺都隨便使用者，可以直接套用一些既有的物件樣板來做出房間，也就是做出使用者自己希望的特色(像是美國西部風格，或是仿星際大戰等等)；目前所有的虛擬物品都是不收費的，當然，Google 未來會針對一些比較高級的虛擬物品來收費，目前所有的物品都是 Google 製作出來的，未來有可能會開放讓使用者來製作一些只屬於使用者自己的物品。 圖像的部分，細緻度雖然不及目前市面上許多講究高畫質的遊戲，但也不會太差。在這個服務中並沒有第一人稱視角，只有第三人稱的視角，當然使用者可以自由調整視角的角度。而目前在這個系統中，要移動虛擬人物只能使用拖曳的方式，而有些使用者希望將來能夠使用鍵盤來移動。而目前的系統是不允許使用者在一個房間中和其他房間的人交談，或是直接的進出其他房間，或許將來也會針對這個地方做改善。 Google 目前已經為 Facebook 建立了嵌入的方法，而目前還在針對 MySpace 這個社群網站的應用來進行開發。 Lively的宣傳影片: via:Webware , Techcrunch , ReadWriteWeb , Donews 相關推薦 Google: 全民審判，忘不了的過去 Google 繼續向前: 是網路榮景? 還是網路泡沫?
