Ilmeisesti McDonalds pyristelee tosissaan irti imagostaan “Supersize” aterioita tarjoilevana roskaruokalana. Tästä ainakin viestisi ketjun Japanissa Shibuyassa avaama uusi ravintola, jossa tunnusomainen McDonald’s brändi on kokonaan riisuttu pois. Uusi ravintola on saanut nimekseen “quarter pounder”, eli varttipauna ketjun klassikkohampurilaisen mukaan. Ravintolasta on onnistuttu suunnittelemaan niin eroavan näköinen, että ainakin allekirjoittanut saattaisi mennä siinä määrin halpaan, että ruokailupaikan todellinen alkuperä selviäisi vasta ruokaan kiinni käydessä.
