Well here’s a weird one. G4 are reporting that come November’s first DLC update for Mercenaries 2, Barack Obama and Sarah Palin will become playable characters. (Note: the DLC is not confirmed for PC, but it’s also not not confirmed. We hope. We’ll ditch this story later if I’m stupid and wrong.) The upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for Mercenaries 2 has two special characters that you’ll no doubt recognize. Yes, that’s Barack Obama and Sarah Palin running around the game’s battlefields with grenades, machine guns and rocket launchers. Cashing in on election fever, EA today announced that, as part of an upcoming update for Mercenaries 2, both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama will be made available as playable characters. Palin in her trademark red jacket and hair, Obama in his trademark...suit. Sounds a little nutty, but seeing Obama punch a swarthy Venezuelan in the face is a lot funnier than you can probably imagine.
