No proper building. Not even an architecture project that would give a hint of what its future headquarters would be like. That didn't prevent El Bòlit, a brand new Contemporary Art Center, from opening its borrowed doors a few weeks ago in Girona. For many Europeans used to fly on the cheap, Girona equals Barcelona or the Costa Brava. Ever since one of the most famous 'no frills' airlines chose the airport as one of ...

Pop star Pink is unhappy with Katy Perry’s hit song “I Kissed A Girl” because she feels the track “trivializes” lesbianism. Pink admits she admires saucy singer Perry and thinks she is “f**king awesome,” but she won’t be putting the chart smash on her stereo anytime soon. And Pink, real name Alecia Moore, reveals her lesbian pals are also offended by the song’s sentiments. She says, “What did I think of Perry’s song? I thought ...

Well okay maybe not Gramps but with most young people thinking that anyone over the age of 30 is just way too old to be cool or a gamer I thought it worked. The point is that for the most part gaming has always been considered the territory of those kids hiding out in the basement playing something on those computers hours on end. We’ve all heard the stories about gaming addiction and how we ...

Filed under: Industry, Blu-ray While most everyone's busy drooling at the thought of checking out HD Netflix streams on November 19th, Blu-ray is peeking its head out for a share of the limelight, too. Hollywood Reporter has it that Blu-ray Disc has hit a rather large milestone today: the all-important 1,000 mark. As of now, over 1,000 high-definition movies have BD written all over it, with 841 on the market currently and 185 scheduled for ...

It took me almost half an hour to realize that the tightly cropped, billboard-sized photos looming from the walls of Eros, a "world tapas bar" where Piebar once held court, were of naked women. Those pictures are about as subtle as Eros gets.

Filed under: Desktops, Laptops Hard to believe that Jack Kilby's unsightly concoction (pictured above) turned 50 yesterday, but it's true. Half a century ago, Mr. Kilby crafted the integrated circuit, which ended up having a monumental impact on taking computers from warehouse-sized to, well, not-warehouse-sized. As the story goes, the very first microchip was demonstrated on the 12th of September in 1958, and it passed its first test: "producing a sine wave on an oscilloscope ...
