Fortunately for White, unlike former USC teammate Carson Palmer—who told an LA radio station he hated Ohio State and their fans and then was forced to issue an apology— he plays in Tennessee. Which means he could probably run for Governor and be elected on the "Ohio State Sucks" platform. So don't look for there to be any apologies forthcoming from White. Not unless the CEO of Hostess Cupcakes threatens to pull his free year's ...

Maybe the Patriots blew a chance to be nearly assured of being the last undefeated team in NFL history. The league is reportedly investigating cutting the preseason to two games and extending the regular season by two games. The switch would make the owners more money, which means it isn't an impossible dream. It would not cost season ticket holders any more, as they already pay for 10 home games. There are impediments, of course. ...

Idiotic news regarding Shawne Merriman’s injured left knee continues to emanate out of San Diego, with the latest being that Señor Assclown himself has decided he doesn’t need surgery at all, and that he’ll just go out and play. Fantastic. This of course makes perfect sense considering the first 63 professional opinions he sought on the injury all ended with, “get surgery, dickhead.” Probably just a coincidence. It’s all a moot point anyway though, Merriman’s ...

It’s time to hit somebody else! And that unlucky somebody just happens to be the Western Illinois Leathernecks of the Missouri Valley Conference. The game on Saturday marks the start of the Bobby Petrino Era at Arkansas. And with the students back, Fayetteville is buzzing again. The Leathernecks, located in Macomb, Illinois, come into the game ranked #25 in The Sports Network’s FCS Top 25 poll (that’s the Football Championship Subdivision…formerly Division I-AA). For reference, ...

In a really fascinating article and very well written piece, Brady's E, Will McDonough, is credited with the quarterback's rise from awkward media interviewee to a stylish, model-dating, European-vacationing metrosexual. Depending on your particular persuasion this either makes McDonough the anti-christ or Jesus. Meet Tom Brady's one man entourage, a 28 year old guy who joined the Patriots in 1997 as an intern and now takes care of everything Brady. Including introducing him to Gisele. ...

For those of us who look forward to the N.F.L. season more than any other sport season, here are a few random questions perhaps worth pondering: 1. When it comes to matters of copyright, some companies have an earned reputation as being attack dogs. They are known for filing takedown notices at the drop of a hat, throwing lawsuits around at will and generally intimidating anyone that they feel gets too close to their intellectual property. Though there is nothing wrong with being aggressive about your copyright, especially when you make your living from it. The problem comes when companies cross the ...

Aside from attempting to play, his two options are reconstructive surgery, which ...

Orton overcame Rex Grossman in the "open competition" portion of the Chicago Bears training camp, edging out the starting spot thanks to a pre-season campaign which was not ...
