At the Beijing Olympics, there were thousands of photographers all looking to get iconic shots of the games. For some events, that meant arriving many, many hours early and setting up elaborate remote camera setups. For the men's 100m dash, there were close to 100 remote cameras set up, all focused on the same thing: the finish line. Photographer Vincent Laforet was there, and he made this amazing video showing the sheer insanity of hundreds ...

Το εργαλείο δεν κάνει το μάστορα. Αυτό προσπαθεί μάλλον να αποδείξει ο Greg Schmigel με το Just What I See | iPhone Photography. All of the images featured on this Web site were created using Apple’s first generation iPhone. Quite a few people have asked me what my goal is with iPhone Photography? My reply has been that I don’t think I really have a “goal” in mind with my project. Rather, I simply like ...

"Joel Stein set out to taste one wine from all 50 states — a patriotic experiment to see if good wine can really be made anywhere." Last month I had the pleasure of working with Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine columnist Joel Stein for a story on 50 American wines. He ordered wine from each of the 50 states, and yes, I immediately asked the same question that is forming in your head right ...

Supertouch just posted their latest dispatch from the international urban street art scene. French artist JR traveled to Rio de Janeiro’s famous favela street slums and created a massive art installation by placing huge portraits of local residents on the sides of buildings. Based on some of the close-up shots it looks like JR made this happen by pasting up individual pieces of paper with small photo sections on each of the buildings. Read on ...

We've all been there. You're in the grocery store, or doctor's office, or a restaurant and you need a five minute distraction for your toddler. And if you're a dad or mom on-the-go who doesn't keep a spare stuffed animal in their pocket, you're usually relegated to whatever you have handy. If one of those things is an iPhone or an iPod Touch, then you may not realize it or not, but you've got a ...

Wayne Martin Belger builds pinhole cameras - this much can be said with certainty. The rest becomes as rain-blurred and effervescent as the images his unique apparatuses produce. Pinhole cameras are still popular among hobbyists and are occasionally hailed as the purest photographic tool. With no lenses between the tool and the subject, the scene, the light and the depth of field are captured in smoky stills - as if snapped by the mind’s eye. ...
