2008. | Permalink | 3 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: list, micro-blogging, synchronization, webapp 更多Web2.0资讯:Web2.0 News | Web2.0 Gallery | Mobile2.0资讯 | 卖链接赚美元 Feed enhanced by Better Feed from Ozh

Filed under: Internet, Windows, Macintosh, Productivity, Web services, Google, Freeware Since the dawn of time Google Calendar, we've been waiting for a free, easy way to fully synchronize our Google Calendar to desktop calendar clients like iCal. We'd love to be able to access the same calendar data across multiple computers, but it's always been a messy affair, not free, an incomplete solution, or PC only. Well, Calgoo has been one of those paid options ...

As such, one of things I am really excited about ...

In an earlier post, I compared Del.icio.us Bookmarks to Firefox 3’s fancy new bookmark engine, Places. Since then, I’ve experimented with using Firefox Bookmarks alone and in concert with Yoono, StumbleUpon, and Foxmarks. But nothing can fully replace the experience you get with Del.icio.us. Its combination of speed, elegance, and social integration with sites around the Web (e.g., FriendFeed, Facebook) make it hard to beat. What I really want is some way to synchronize my ...

Your music, your podcasts, your photos, all your stuff: it just syncs. This is good.Your notes? They don't sync.This. Is. Bad.Not just bad, but actually driving me nuts. It drives me nuts because I can't believe there's a technical challenge to be overcome here. On the iPhone, you have your Notes app ...

I agree with this post. Why can't the iPhone sync notes with my desktop? Perhaps a third party developer will come up with a simple app.

A valid reason for never getting back to all those social web apps you signed up for is that updating them all with big news—or just a funny moment—requires a lot of logging in, typing or uploading, and then switching over. switchAbit, a free social syndication tool, offers the tools to create multiple "switches" for all your cool tools. So you can, say, upload a photo on Flickr, then have a link or thumbnail of ...

Doesn't seem ready yet - good idea though. As much as I'd like for every service I use to have options built in to do the things I want; what I most need is for services I use to allow third-parties to add this kind of integration.

Looks interesting and I will check it out. I find myself putting highly personal stuff on Facebook and less shameful images on Flickr. It helps that I stopped Blogging.

This sounds promising. I've often talked about the need to "integrate" Google Reader Shared Feeds and Twitter (and perhaps FB statuses). I wonder if switchAbit is a workable interim step.

I work on photographs on two different computers. I find myself constantly wishing that I had a file that’s on the other machine, having to hunt down a thumb drive and move it over. Network folders have helped, but what I’ve really been looking for is a solution that requires no help from me. I’m lazy — I want my files to always be in the right place, but I shouldn’t have to move them ...

Any file that's synced with Dropbox is available on any computer you sync it to or through the Dropbox web interface. During the beta, Dropbox is limited to 2GB of storage space and syncing. The software and service will remain free of charge, but if you need more than the 2GB, premium accounts will be available. Dropbox is currently Windows and Mac only, though the Dropbox blog promises a Linux client soon. The application is ...

When we talk about social networks, we are used to talk about Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, Last.FM and so on. Now since November 2007 we have added Dataportability to that conversation. The problem is just that when it comes to dataportability we are talking about who owns the data, Walled gardens and what standard to use. Instead we should be talking about how dataportablility is going to change how we look at social networks and how ...
