The whole international Mac community has a confidence problem since Matt Groening made fun of them in The Simpsons last week. So I thought it would be good to post an image that reaffirms our beliefs. All hail Steve! Steve is Apple! (Literally in this image)

Get it while it’s still available on YouTube Hulu.com: The Simpsons’ clever send-up of “Mapple,” “MyPods,” “MyPhones” and “Steve Mobs,” whose real slogan, Lisa Simpson learns, is not “think differently” but “no refunds.” Our favorite scene: When the black-shirted staff at the Mapple Store turns on Bart and prepares to flay him with their ear buds. Below the fold: two clips from the Apple (AAPL) spoof. The Simpsons more about “Hulu - The Simpsons: Mapple ...

Filed under: Computers, TV Few have been spared the satire of Matt Groening's long running animated sitcom. Last night, 'The Simpsons' took on Apple, or uh, Mapple for a full 6 minutes of lampoonery -- a pretty harsh ride at a two-joke per minute pace. It all starts when the Springfield mall gets its very own Mapple store, "it's so sterile," gasps Lisa upon entering. Perhaps the best exchange comes from Bart's dubbing of a ...

While I do own several Apple products, I’ve often joked about the cult-like nature of some of the company’s fanatical enthusiasts. The Simpsons captured this sentiment remarkably well in a parody of Apple aired last night on FOX. Complete with “The Mapple Store,” a “MyPod,” a $1200 “MyBill,” and a Bart voice-over of a “Steve Mobs” keynote, the animated series completely nails the stereotypes of Apple products, employees, and users. Check it out in the ...

Did you miss “The Simpsons” last night? Me too. Actually, the show’s been off my radar for a long time, which means I wouldn’t have seen last night’s parody of Apple (AAPL) and Steve Jobs unless someone pointed it out to me. Luckily, we have the Internet for that. Right now, you can find clips of the episode throughout Google’s YouTube, where they’re technically not supposed to be. (Though in truth, Fox’s copyright patrol has ...

Even though The Simpsons has a history of satirizing tech culture, and even Apple specifically, last night's episode felt like it was making up for a bit of lost time. It's not just iPods and iMacs getting reprefixed and animated: it's Apple Stores, the G4 Cube, past and present fanboys, vintage advertising and even Steve Jobs himself. Groening and co. aren't exactly breaking new ground here (though they seem to reserve most of their venom ...

Those who saw The Simpsons Movie know that Homer Simpson’s oft-advertised singing of the song “Spiderpig” encapsulated either everything that was awesome with that film, or everything that was wrong with the Simpsons franchise as a whole (depending on how big of a fan you were at that point). I happen to fall in the latter category. Apparently, police from Blairgowrie, Perthshire may agree with me. After a summer night of drinking, 22-year old David ...

Anthing involving this dude is terrifying: When I look at that thing, I feel like I have every sexually transmitted disease known to man. But I digress. Obviously, the dream CEO for Yahoo is News Corp. President and COO Peter Chernin. And, no surprise, he is the No. 1 choice of most inside and outside Yahoo, in the wake of the news late yesterday that its current CEO and Co-Founder Jerry Yang is stepping down. Well, Yahoo would certainly be challenge for Chernin, in terms of a corporate cleanup challenge, especially compared to figuring out how to make bank on plush toys ...
