What does it say about Sarah Palin that some of my favorite targets, um, subjects raved about her this morning? Andrea Mitchell and Mika Brzezinski could hardly have been more complimentary, Tom Brokaw and Jay Carney chipping in with positive comments.ANDREA MITCHELL: Here was a novice on the national scene, with the lowest of expectations. People said sure, she'll be able to perform. But it was an amazing, amazing speech in terms of the way ...

Recently I’ve heard stories from management in my company and others about how Gen-Y is becoming a “problem,” and that managers are beginning to be intimidated by the thought of hiring us to fill the gaps left by retiring Baby Boomers. You’ve heard of our common traits: we modify the dress code, we surf Facebook at work, we get in late, want to leave early, and we take a long lunch somewhere in there. All ...

Filed under: Misc. Gadgets From the same brilliant mind that brought you the RoboStool comes something a bit less useful but equally mesmerizing. Put simply, Norris Labs' Stonehenge is a robotic time teller which rearranges placards in order to express the current time. The concoction utilizes a CrustCrawler Smart Arm and a Parallax Propeller chip along with 14 cards to display the current time, though it does operate, um, a bit slowly. Ah well, it's ...

By Paul MichaelHow many times do you click on a link to an article, video, image or anything else of interest and want to visit the homepage of that site? It happens to me all the time. Sometimes finding the homepage link is fairly easy, on other occasions it's buried. And then you have to go up to the address bar, delete all of the information before the domain name and hit enter. A quick post today due to a heavy workload, but I had to mention one of the most interesting visualisations of Twitter I’ve seen in a while at Twitter StreamGraphs. It’s a third party creation which either lets you see the last 200 tweets containing a search term, or the last 200 tweets by a username. It’s useful, and it looks great….it’s been created by Jeff Clark, who also created TwitterArcs and TwitterSpectrum.

[So this is a little something I wrote the other day when I was in "creative" mode. Personally, I think it might be a good start for a message to accompany photos or video like this, but in (brief) video form. What do you think: Too cheezy or just cheezy enough to be good? You can be honest, I can take it. Just between you and me, one thing I really don't like about this post ...

The Rogue is a watch that, when worn, lets others know you're chock full of bad-assery. And, quite possibly, bionic innards. The $155 watch comes in both black and silver, and is sure to turn heads and drop panties. So, how do you read it? Once mastered, navigating the time is simple, but creates a sense of mystique to the uninformed. The outer ring of small dots represents minutes, every fifth dot being slightly smaller ...

Detail Sometimes it’s appropriate to post an image without comment, but I don’t want to be in the habit of it. Example, the portrait I put here yesterday. So, if you took all the grain out of this image, and put back the spectrum of color that was presumably bouncing off this lady, would you know approximately when the photo was taken? Her hair is down and seems not to be anchored too deeply in ...
