还是暑假的时候，带沈小妹逛季风书店，挑了几本书，营业员大姐认出我是老板的朋友，客气地夸沈小妹长得漂亮(具体的话不记得了，但至少是说她长得像我)，正待掏钱付款，说时迟，那时快，沈小妹童言无忌地往收银台上摆了一句闲话:“书名我都记下了，回家上网去买吧”。 也不知何时起，书店里的书被分成fiction和nonfiction两类，书店也被分成实体和网络两种。我个人比较喜欢前者，在网上，起码不会有营业员夸我女儿。不过，网络书店搞垮实体书店(就像灵魂搞垮了肉体)最致命的一招，还不是便宜，而是一项自“泰罗制”以来最恶毒的商业发明:“买那本书的人，通常也买这本书”(Customers Who Bought This Items Also Bought…)。 以近日挂在亚马逊首页上的畅销书<<Nixonland:The Rise of a President and the Fracturing of America>>(作者Rick Peristein)为例，此书从1965年8月洛杉矶持续六天的暴乱写起，一路写了其后七八年间的美国，包括马丁路德金和肯尼迪的被刺以及反越战浪潮，最后落在尼克松当选总统，乱世出英雄─不错吧?买了。但是且慢，网页当眼处有大字提示，买了这本书的顾客，还买了别的一些书。哦?真的吗?那就看看吧。于是，就一口气看到了关于林肯，关于1829-1877的内战，关于丘吉尔、甘地和丘吉尔以及希特勒和纳粹，二次大战，关于肯尼迪，华沙和古巴，从黑手党到白宫内幕，从布什家族到拉姆斯菲尔德，从麦凯恩到石油阴谋以及中东问题，1919-1950年的民权运动，反恐战争内幕，1948年第一次阿以战争，甚至包括全国橄榄球联合会在1958年的诞生以及新好莱坞的诞生，从1960奥运会到<<为什么我们要这样开车?>>，卡通如何改变美国，美国人应该如何写小说，从百万富翁的全球最贵葡萄酒到以讲述60年代纽约麦迪逊大街上广告人故事的电视连续剧<<Mad Men>>(DVD，2007年第一季)… 粗略算算，这个冤大头因为要用24.75美元的打折价买一本原价37.5美元的书，最后总共买了100本，花了1799美元─不过这还没完，这些被链接到的书各自还有链接，每本又多出20页，每页5本，其中每一本又再度衍生出另外20本…我数学差，1980年在上海参加高考，数学才考17分，但直觉这种“超链接购买”行为只要连续发生到第28次，该Customers花的钱，应该可以把亚马逊给买下来了，至少，全面收购“当当”或“卓越”，我看已经足够。 “买了…还买了”的厉害，可见<<本文作者为国宝级白目>>(冯光远着，Net and Books/06年9月初版一刷，08年1月初版三刷)，“白目”是台语，类似于是傻B。堪称华语圈cuso写作第一人的冯光远说:“网路书店聪明的地方就在此，他们知道许多文化人通常没有数字观念，可是又喜欢买齐作品，于是设下‘买那本书的人，通常也买这本书’的陷阱，如果两本一起买，折扣更多…这种怂恿你买一堆其实不太需要的商品的商业发明，要是哪天各行各业都学上了，我们的社会成了一个过度消费的社会，那不知道会有多浪费。想象你上餐厅用餐，侍者递上一份应该是电脑整理过的菜单。‘我要一个京酱肉丝，一个豆瓣黄鱼。’‘先生，您要不要试一试我们的水煮牛肉，点京酱肉丝跟豆瓣黄鱼的客人，通常也点水煮牛肉。’‘也好，试试看。’‘您要不要点一客干煸四季豆，点上面几道菜的客人，他们点青菜的时候，通常点的是干煸四季豆。’‘听起来不错，那就干煸四季豆。’显然，这是一家川味餐厅，你吃的，正是口味相同的客人在不同时间相同的选择，还好这只是一家川味餐厅，点太多，吃剩的打包带回家就是了，不会出太大的问题。会出问题的，通常都没有办法打包带回家。 另外，要是哪天‘买那本书的人，通常也买这本书’的概念，一些奇怪的圈子如黑道也模仿应用，那才真的不敢想象。‘老大，待会抢超商的时候，谁把风？’‘小猴把风，我们两个进去抢。’‘抢完要去打电动吗？’‘什么打电动，你知不知道，抢完超商的抢匪，通常都顺道再抢一家加油站。’‘老大你真有学问，那我倒想请教你，干我们这行的，通常还可以干什么？’‘根据统计，干我们这一行的，通常也可以干县市议员或者立法委员。’‘什么？他们也是强盗？’‘废话，你都不看新闻的啊？’……” 红杏不出墙，坚决拽出来。当然，你在“季风”排队付款时，可以看到“买这本也买了那本”者的“实体”(通常是背部)，却看不到他们买的是哪本书，当然更不关心─除非你面对着的是宝爷的实体。宝爷之“实体”虽素有“高玉宝”的美誉(即高大威猛，玉树临风之宝爷)，但环顾其“实体书店”，在“买了…还买了”之淫威下所能负隅顽抗者，唯“值得观注的”五字。宝爷呷着上海滩最超值的“季风咖啡”，浮想连翩:要不要把这几个字扩展为“观注这本书的人，通常也观注那本书”呢?或者，“逛了这家季风书店的，还逛了那家季风书店?” 要不，“买了这本书的人，通常会喝一杯季风咖啡?” 这时，宝爷收到一个段子，发信人毛尖:“金庸对自己14部武侠小说的概括是‘飞雪连天射白鹿，笑书神侠倚碧鸳’，J.K罗琳女士深受启发，遂将自己的7本书之书名，也制成一联，曰‘哈哈哈哈哈哈哈’”。 这不是“写了这本书的人，还写了那本书”么?宝爷深受启发，决定从我做起。当下就把自己的两本书名串联，竟得“别爱”二字，乃发一声长叹:“罢了!莫非我只有‘开了这家季风书店的人，还开了那家季风书店’的命”? 来源：沈宏非
