Like a record baby (a broken one) (1)

I know I sound like a broken record recently but I wanted to share yet another story about how customer service should work and does work with TMobile. When I signed up for my account, I asked to have my Rohm and Haas corporate discount added. I wasn’t sure it actually got done during the sign up process so I went online in search of the answer. I looked at their My T-Moble site (which ...Shared by Jesse (128)Contribute comment -

Go ahead, tether me baby (on the G1) (1)

It sounds dirty, I know but it’s really not — It’s amazingly dirty and helpful at the same time. Graham Stewart over at Graha.ms designed the first “tether” app for the G1 and the Android OS. Better than that, it’s cross-platform compatible so Windows lovers, Mac heads and Linux gurus can all browse the web through their phones. I say “tether” because it uses SOCKS proxying right now but I’m sure he won’t let us ...Shared by Jesse (128)Contribute comment -
Dealzmodo: $180 Sharp Blu-ray Player, No Rebates or Catches [Dealzmodo] (2)

What's this? A brand new sub-$200 Blu-ray player? From a respectable, legitimate brand? No dirty tricks or mail-in rebates? Holy crap, yes. In a sad, scorched wasteland of Black Friday deals, this $180 Sharp Aquos BD-HP21U (usually $300) from Sears.com is a tiny beacon of hope—an affordable Blu-ray player. Definitely worth a peek, especially since big boxes are cutting prices on movies as a way to lure people into stores without incurring the heavy bleeding ...Shared by Frank (51) Will (41)Contribute comment -

Who said nothing comes for free? Tomorrow, Saturday Nov 15th, pop over to your favorite T-Mobile store and tell them to hook you up with some free minutes. It’s a “Customer Delight Day” so you’ll be able to score 100 free minutes. Bring a friend and T-Mobile will double that to 200 free minutes. Get a friend to sign up for a T-Mobile contract and you can get $25 credited towards your next bill too. ...Shared by Harry (17)Contribute comment - وارش (1)

Getting root on the G1 (10)

Hack a Day (978) permalink
If you’ve been holding off on a T-Mobile G1 purchase because you didn’t like the apparent user restrictions, there’s some good news. The Android powered phone comes with an easy button for getting root. Install a terminal app and you can manually start the telnetd service. All that’s left is telenetting into the device and it’ll give you root level access.Shared by Aaron R (642) C.K. Day 4 with the G1 (1)

I decided to go ahead and dive in and try the new Android phone from HTC. The only thing I had to get over was that it was on TMobile only — And from what I remembered, their coverage all around the country was horrible. It turns out after 4 days of using, testing, beating and sharing the device with other people, the service isn’t bad at all and the software and hardware rock!
