Toluu’s tags, totally tremendous! Today’s timesink: tagging Toluu totality! Ok, enough of that, this really is great news. Caleb Elston, Toluu’s founder, tells us that tagging was the most requested feature for Toluu. I’m very impressed with the implementation as tagging really permeates the site now, it’s feels like a true integration, not a hacked together add on. When adding tags, the auto-complete will cut down on typos. Along with tagging you’ll see better sorting ...

Today, Toluu launched the long awaited feature that its members have been patiently waiting for. The new feature is the ability to label and discover new feeds using tags. Just as you would use Diigo for labeling, sorting and discovery of new bookmarks, you can now do the same with your rss feeds on Toluu. Clicking the tags tab on any feed will reveal the top tags in the Toluu system for that particular feed. ...

Toluu, everyone’s favorite blog recommendation application, has released a powerful new feature: tagging. Tagging is a ubiquitous element of Web 2.0. As content creators and consumers add tags, everyone benefits. Things are easy to find, and there’s fun in clicking those tags - you never know what you’ll discover. I’m also a fan of the idea that tagging illuminates someone’s interests. Know someone’s tags, know their interests. A look to the right side of this ...

Toluu, the popular feed discovery engine and OPML sharing site, is making steps toward enhancing categorization and feed discovery with an update this morning, adding tags to feeds, and helping users find similar feeds by learning what other feeds carry the same tags, or seeing what tags other users' feeds share most frequently.I spoke with Toluu developer Caleb Elston yesterday evening, and he told me "tagging has been the most requested feature" since Toluu launched ...

That right kids Toluu announced today that tagging is now a feature for the feed discovery/sharing service. I think this should take the service to the next level and allow users to find feeds for certain subjects they are looking for like “Apple”, “Tech”, “8-Bit”, ect. Here are the juicy details: *Tag Tab* On every feed page (the page with the blog post summaries) there is a new tab called ‘Tags’ . In this Tab, ...

Today I got an invitation to Toluu, “a utility that makes it easy to discover the feeds your friends read and find your new favorite feed.” It’s a very basic looking site, easy to set up & you can also integrate it with your Twitter account (if you choose to). In their own words: “You import your feeds and then your friends can easily see what you actually read. You can also find others who ...

Every day, there are more and more great services to investigate in the world of social media. Each one breaks new ground in terms of features, focus or user interface. There are many different sites that target general social networking, some are for business, some are for dating, some are for microblogging, and others for service aggregation. And there will be many more. While some are calling for a pause in the innovation, somewhat fatigued ...

Toluu, the RSS sharing and suggestion service, has found some interesting trends when exploring their subscription data. Caleb Elston, Toluu’s founder, tells me that of the 300,000+ feeds in Toluu more than 50% only have only 1 subscriber. And that the number 1 feed has 10x the number of subscribers as the 100th most popular feed. Caleb says this tells him “that the mega blogs are not where it is at, they may have a ...

August marks the sixth month where I've tried to highlight five lesser-known bloggers who are quietly toiling in relative obscurity. Each of the bloggers highlighted each month has been added to my Google Reader list, via Toluu, and has, to date, been consistently informative, interesting or entertaining. Most are focused on Web applications and social media. There's no simple rule for determining obscurity, aside from the fact their content consistently outproduces the number of comments they ...

We have been fixing bugs and improving the matching system to degrade gracefully if you have no matches or we have not calculated your matches yet. We know how annoying it can be when a site leaves you hanging, unsure of what has happened. We think the changes we have made will alleviate that anxiety. Hopefully you won’t even see the new screens, but some of you will, and that is why we built them. ...

Toluu is a one stop social supermarket for discovery of new rss feeds. How Toluu works is quite simple. Once registered, you will import your current OPML file into the system. The service will then search for other users with interests similar to yours. This is almost like a dating service, and will display the best matches accordingly. Toluu is not a replacement rss reader, but rather a type of condiment. This post highlights some ...

Toluu updated again this morning releasing another great feature. The latest feature is Feed preview functionality throughout the site. When you mouseover a Feed title a window is revealed listing the last 5 blog posts contained in that feed. I spoke to Caleb Elston the Toluu founder about this feature. He said, “We actually decided to build in this functionality when we found ourselves passing by feeds because we didn’t want to wait for the ...

Toluu could be the hottest shit on the internet. If you're not familiar with the service it's an rss sharing and discovery service. You connect with people on the site to find new feeds through other users lists. They recently added a feed preview feature that makes looking through someone's list must easier. Invite only, but FPettit here still has some.
