ブログの成長に伴いトップページにいろいろなものを掲載し始めると、読み込みにかかる時間の長さが問題になってくる。Royal Pingdomによると人気の100ブログのうち74サイトで、いろいろなものを詰め込みすぎて重くなり（500KB以上）、ブロードバンドユーザでさえ読み込み時間の長さに不満を感じるようになっている。残念ながらTechCrunchも、Huffington Post、Engadget、Gizmode、Boing Boing、LifehackerおよびOfficial Google Blogまでもが含まれる500KB以上のグループに入ってしまっている。 尚、100の人気ブログのうち35サイトで、トップページが1MBを超えている。毎秒1Mビットのブロードバンド接続でも、1MBのページを読み込むには8.4秒かかる（毎秒384キロビットの接続では22秒かかる）。これはいくらなんでも長すぎる。 非常に残念なことに、TechCrunchのトップページも1.2MBになってしまっている。しかしサイトのリニューアル前と比べると、読み込み時間が5倍速くなってはいる。もちろん十分というわけではなく、読み込み時間を短くする工夫は行い続けている。 人気の100ブログにて、読み込み時間を長くしてしまっている大きな理由は画像の多さ（61.5%）とスクリプト（17.3%）だ。TechCrunchでもこの両者が大きな問題となっている。かといってTechCrunchから画像を取り去るわけにもいかず、自動リサイズ機能などで対応しているところ。またスクリプトに関しては、ページ上に記載されているすべてのスクリプトを一度に読み込むのではなく、必要なものだけを読み込むようにして対応している。 人気のある100ブログのうち、トップページのサイズが500KB未満に抑えている26サイトのリストを掲載しておく。 alistapart WebStandards Daily Blog Tips MacRumors Political Radar ReadWriteWeb 43 Folders Microsiervos Kotteke Roytanck Pharyngula Search Engine Land Travel Pod Copy Blogger Scobleizer Blogoscoped Pro Blogger Talking Points Memo Matt Cutts DoshDosh Swampland Coding Horror Tech Dirt Seth Godin Zen Habits Gothamist ［原文へ］ （翻訳：Maeda, H）

Corpse Craft is a flash game -- a puzzle/ strategy hybrid that's one part Same Game and one part Tower defense and one part Edward Gorey. Decent art, sound, story and gameplay.
