A long-lost Penn and Teller special, "Penn & Teller's Invisible Thread," has resurfaced on YouTube in four parts. Get it while you can! P&T are hustling magicians who find themselves embroiled in a shadowy mystery when the men in black call them in for a consultation. There's magic Marx-Bros-esque shenanigans, grifter humor, and bad eighties hair. It's some vintage funny conspiracy theory stuff -- look for guest appearances from James Randi, Whodini, and Andy Warhol! ...

In the midsts of a debate as to whether HTML5 will make Flash redundant, Adobe is releasing an update to the plug-in on Mac OS X that is expected to "get us to the point where Mac will be faster than Windows for graphics rendering." You can get the beta on the Adobe Labs site. With major players like YouTube trialing HTML5 versions of their sites Adobe has to keep an eye on Flash's performance ...

emergency brake from Casey Neistat on Vimeo. Casey Neistat made this video above to enlighten and educate people on when the emergency brake in a subway car should be pulled. Many people simply think that the cord should be pulled in any emergency, but really it should only be pulled when somebody is in danger of losing a limb or being killed by a train IN THE STATION. If you aren’t in the station, it’s ...

Remember how, as a kid, teachers created an atmosphere of FUN as the best way to learn? It was an inspired place for imagination and support. Hmmm, well it seems adults get the short end of the stick, playing only a game of ’serious’ and ‘responsibility’. So when I came across this video, it was interesting to see life’s playground had merged into the adult world. Yipeeee! Adults need to have some fun, too. We ...

I have watched this like four times now and I'm still all, WHA? Anyway: "No one seems to know how the bear lost her right paw and foreleg, but she's adjusted with aplomb, instead choosing to go bipedal," says Backpacker, calling it "a testament to the black bear's adaptability for survival." So very very true.

I love little birds. They are so cute. And they taste delicious and crunchy fried in beer batter. If you want them to wake you up, however, try BirdBox. BirdBox is a $12.75 bedside bird home with a matching free application that turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a cuckoo alarm clock. You know, because nothing says good morning like "the sound and sight of nesting birds" eating regurgitated bugs and worms. [Luckybite via ...

Listen to Howard Stern talking about the American Idol judge rumors in this audio clip from Stern’s satellite radio show this morning. Stern says of taking over Simon Cowell’s spot: “There’s not a better job on the planet than judging a f—–g karaoke contest. It might be possible, we’ll see.” I don’t think there’s much of a chance that Howard Stern will take over the judge gig, given his shock jock reputation, but Stern does ...

I saw this ad during the Super Bowl–sorry, I mean “The Big Game”–yesterday, and originally thought it was some sort of political issue ad. Although it is funny, in a creepy way, it is not clear to me what the ad agency and Audi are saying here about The Green Police (besides buy an Audi diesel). There are more clips on YouTube of other Green Police spots, so this looks like the start of an ...
