PETA Releases Mama Kills (1)
on
Edge Online - Interactive Entertainment Today (51) permalink
Mama Kills is an unauthorized flash-based web game that asks the player to cut off a chicken’s head, pluck its feathers and pull out its giblets. It’s a parody of Taito’s casual DS game Cooking Mamma and was launched by animal rights advocate PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). The organisation has condemned Taito’s game for overusing a large number of animals in its cooking minigames.read moreShared by Patrick Harms (135)Contribute comment -

I was just watching this video of Clay Shirky talking about the way society deals with major changes. In a classic ADD moment, I opened a new tab about two seconds into the video, preparing to read some ridiculous article on AskMen.Funny thing is (ha ha), Shirky starts out the video talking about the importance of gin in helping people deal with the paradigm shift of the industrial revolution. And AskMen is running a floating ...Shared by NaFun (20)Contribute comment - Templar, Arizona: Trouble Every Day, Page 002 (1)

As U.S. and European officials ponder what to do about the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, they are coming to a perhaps surprising conclusion: The simplest way to stabilize the country may be to negotiate a truce with the Taliban fundamentalists who were driven from power by the United States in 2001.Shared by Sean McBride (417)Contribute comment -
Krugman's Nobel Winning Theory and Software Industry (1)

Paul Krugman won the Nobel in Economics today. Before you jump, I know its not a real Nobel prize. I have enjoyed his writings on New York Times along with other favorite economists like the one's behind Cafe Hayek - who funnily enough or sadly enough denounced Krugman's award today. In any case, how does this relate to software? As it turns out, Krugman's award was a recognition for the "New Trade Theory". You can read ...Shared by AnshuBlog (21)Contribute comment -

Within minutes of stepping into Starbucks and getting my regular drink, the lights went off in a power trip. This, I assure you, is quite an uncommon phenomenon; at least in Singapore. In no more than 5 minutes later, the lights went off again. Whoops! Another power trip! Hmm… This reminded me of the only time while I was in India that the lights went off.
