| Danos tu opinión | Agregar entrada a del.icio.us

Wow, it’s been a busy week for Zune news. :) We had the unexpected Zune 3.1 update, the huge Zune Pass update, and now this… Microsoft is significantly cutting the price of most of its Zune players and some accessories. I’ve argued since Microsoft launched the Zune that it needs to undercut Apple’s pricing on comparable player models in order to make headway in this market. And now it seems like they finally get that. ...

Since the launch of the new Zune Pass, I've gotten a few questions from folks. For a quick how-to, be sure to check out the screenshot tutorial over at Inside the Circle. And Harv from 'rama did a great job in summarizing these - I ran his list by the product team and here's what I got: 1. What’s the catch here? No catch. You get everything you always got with your Zune Pass (i.e. ...

I haven't attained new music very regularly in years since the days I actually respected FM content. Between the modern choice—buying tracks, subscribing to a service or stealing it—I'm just not getting enough exposure to try before I download. Last night, things changed in a way that I hope paves the way for the future of buying music. Microsoft's Zune team, of all people, are allowing subscription music buyers to keep 10 songs a month ...

Cross posting from Brier Dudley's blog: Microsoft's Zune still isn't going to catch Apple's iPod, but you've got to give the group credit for creative approaches to music licensing. Zune is announcing Thursday that people who subscribe to its $15 per month Zune Pass subscription music service will be able to download and keep 10 songs a month. It also cut device prices earlier this week, with the base 4 gigabyte model falling to $99 ...

Do you like to rent your music collection or own it outright? With the updated Zune Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service for its Zune line of portable media players, you can now have the best of both worlds. Sort of. For a monthly fee of $14.99, Zune Pass subscribers get access to millions of tracks on a rental basis — once the subscription ends, access is shuttered — but with today’s changes they can also keep ...

The price cut might have looked kind of desperate, but the attempt to raise interest in the Zune subscription by allowing some songs to be kept 'forever' is a much more interesting move by Microsoft.I'm not entirely convinced, though, that the idea will work. Buying songs to keep forever is simple to explain. Renting songs you can listen to while you keep your subscription current is a clear proposition. Renting all the songs to listen ...

Hot on the heels of releasing the Zune 3.0 release in September, the Zune team went into full swing this week for the holiday season: Starting with a new Zune TV spot during Monday night's episode of Heroes. The ad is funky and features crossover DJ/Artist Common and featuring the Mixview feature I'm officially addicted to for exploring new artists. Apparently we'll be seeing the ad during NFL games, and a lot of playtime on ...

There's just nothing like the holiday season, folks. That warm, fuzzy feeling you get when spending your last dollar on a gift for someone you aren't even that fond of -- really, what else can compare? On second thought, maybe this can. Microsoft has just announced that, beginning today, Zune Pass users will be able to select ten tracks per month to keep forever (and ever, and ever), and the $14.99 monthly subscription rate isn't ...

At least Microsoft is making an effort to differentiate itself from the iPod. Unfortunately the iPod is last year. iPhone is what they need to catch now. Maybe PMX will be the answer? They must have bout Sidekick for a reason.

Zune fans are PHAT. Yes, PHAT - pretty hot and tempting. They also have a vivid imagination when it comes to their own fan-made advertising. We think YouTube user ButternutJelly is a Zune fan, but we’re not so sure. Clearly drawing inspiration from Tubgirl, he made this short film for Microsoft’s Zune. If it didn’t include a disclaimer, I’d have thought it was from Microsoft’s advertising team. Warning: it’s quite disturbing. Link [via]
