According to Edge Online, as part of its recent cuts, EA has shut down EA Blueprint. From what I've read, EA Blueprint was set up to publish games on top of social networks, or as we like to call them, social games. In its time, EA Blueprint released a Facebook version of Smarty Pants, developed by Context Optional, the apps-for hire company. It currently has a respectable 40,000 monthly users. For perspective, the cut-off for a ...

Age is a funny thing. From a purely physical perspective our vision technically deteriorates with age, however from every other aspect I believe our true “vision” grows sharper and more clear the older we get. One thing in particular that I find our aged vision makes it much easier to see is the deep connections we have with our children (and our parents for that matter). As I have gotten older, I see more and ...

This morning Zynga announced the launch of their Live Poker application. I had the opportunity to test out the application this morning and I have to say that it’s pretty addictive. The coolest part is that there always appears to be people playing live since the application integrates with Zynga’s existing network across the other social platforms. I’ve gone ahead and have posted pictures below of the Facebook Connect integration. The process was seamless and ...

Our portfolio company Zynga quietly released Live Poker yesterday for the iPhone. Live Poker is the same Texas Hold'em game that over 1.4mm people play every day on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, and Hi5. Now you can have it on the iPhone and play against your friends who are on the web at one of these social nets. Like Texas Hold'em on the social nets, Live Poker is free but there is also an upgraded version ...

Luckily, I don’t play poker. It’s one in the long list of addictions I’ve been lucky not to get infected with over the years. But if I did, I’d be all over Zynga’s new game for the iPhone: Live Poker. Zynga creates games for Facebook, MySpace and other social networks. They usually don’t waste time reinventing the wheel; they go with good old ever-popular games like Texas Hold’Em, BlackJack, Scramble and Sudoku. They also have ...

I'm excited. It doesn't happen much any more, perhaps I've been in the social gaming space for too long to be impressed by the new entrants rehashing the same game mechanics over and over again. And for business models, we've settled into virtual currency sales via CPA offers from companies like Offerpal and Superrewards for monetization.Since I got into social games about two years ago, my vision has always been this: Play. Anywhere. It's what ...

This year we've partnered with AOL Moviefone and The Sundance Film Festival to bring you this challenge: direct an original short film incorporating three specific props. Seeing the diversity and creativity of what people are doing with our geo tools continues to surprise and enthrall all of us working on these very tools. Intrepid software developers worldwide are taking the initiative by building unique applications to demonstrate that Google Earth and Google Maps aren't just places to plan a route or see your house (though are still great for doing that!), but places to view all forms of information in their ...

As a blogger naturally I care about writing well, but I really pride myself in the things many readers actually care about: Headlines and pictures. Both are great hooks to get readers to read what you write.Along those lines, a story broke today about the iPhone outselling the RAZR for the first time. I think I chose a good headline (The iPhone outsells the thing that I'm using as a paperweight (The RAZR), but I ...

En el anuncio podrás ver cómo escoger restaurante para cenar. Lo tienes tras el salto.Continue reading Vídeo: ...

Boston 90, Cleveland 85 The script for this one is still the same, same as it was last spring, same as it will probably be all season for these two teams. The Cavaliers have no room for error because of their dodgy offense, and they committed errors, while the Boston intensity on defense and in spurts on offense helped overcome its own iffy offense. Boston opened the night with an emotional ceremony that saw the ...

MEGAN MCARDLE ON SILENCING THE CRITICS: "Wondering if we can't prosecute the person who exposed the campaign's error smacks of police state tactics. Yes, I still support Obama, and I have no reason to think that the error was deliberate. But that doesn't mean that I think the Obama team has a right to have its errors protected from public exposure. . . . If it had been a corporation rather than a campaign whose ...
