But even though USB keys have become a preferable alternative to the shiny, reflective discs, old fashioned media can still be used to send information via snailmail or to create cheap, storable backups. If you are looking for a totally free, simple, and effective Windows CD / DVD burning ...

Google Earth is getting a nice plug from Olympic Gold Medal cyclist Kristin Armstrong. When she did her time trials in December, 2007 in China, she took along her husband’s GPS unit to capture the elevation along the route. Then she used that data to find the best training route back home. In a guest post on the Google Lat-Long blog, she writes: After returning home to Boise, Idaho, I exported the GPS data to ...

Amazon is working on a new version of the Kindle, and sees a big opportunity to market its e-book reader to college students. "There are already several new, improved versions of the Kindle in the works," he wrote. "But AMZN has no plans, however, for an MP3 music audio version. We guess the new version will have improved interface operating controls. This has been an issue with some buyers." Read more at:http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/amazon/archives/146874.asp

A long, long time ago—about two years—students filled Facebook and found and “friended” others who were taking the same courses. They shared information and tips. Then in 2006 Facebook was opened up to nonstudents, and class interests got crowded out. A new Facebook program aims to bring it back, allowing members to view their courses and chat with classmates and friends that have opted in to the program. The new wrinkle: the program is going ...
