Ingraham: McCain Has Been Different From Bush On All Issues (10)
permalinkYesterday, ThinkProgress talked to right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham, who was spending time in the Huffington Post Oasis in the Big Tent at the Democratic National Convention. Ingraham told us that she sees virtually no similarities between the policy positions of President Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and that it is pointless for progressives to argue as much. How to Be Awesome at Followup - Stepcase Lifehack (11)
on Stepcase Lifehack (2875) permalinkPhoto by Marloes Most people are unexceptional at following up: it sounds obvious, but it shouldn’t be this way, because followup (I spell it as a single word) is key to combining smaller achievements into bigger ones. Actively following up on conversation is also a trait of people who’re successful, focused, and relentless about living their dreams. Lofty yet elegant — and if you excel at followup, you can be sure to incite delight wherever ...Shared by Abdul Jaleel (59) ani625 (370) Ben Parr (43) dale.brayden@gmail.com (38) David Phillips (13) Doug (21) fyc (123) Morton Fox (314) Radek Pilich (106) Sean (61) Shane (118)Contribute comment

Forbes misses the point of the 4-day work week (65)
on Signal vs. Noise (3877) permalinkThere’s a piece in Forbes called Why A Four-Day Work Week Doesn’t Work that suggests: But there are serious drawbacks. Packing 40 hours into four days isn’t necessarily an efficient way to work. Many people find that eight hours are tough enough; requiring them to stay for an extra two could cause morale and productivity to decrease. As for saving on the cost of commuting, it likely isn’t true. The article is right: More hours ...Shared by Aadom The Wygle (42) Aaron (34) Ben Parr (43) Benjamin Golub (78) Bojan (38) Carlos Villela (43) Carri (20) Chris (225) chrishathaway (15) Chu Yeow (43) Chuck LeDuc (49) cmm324 (24) Darrin (22) dobata (1005) Dr. Ernie (163) Enkrates (47) Eoin (71) Galtenbergs (73) glongman (53) guynameddave (36) hober (81) iuri (24) Jana (117) Jason (40) Jeff Daly (168) Jeffrey (32) Johannes (31) John (49) John F. - Chuck LeDuc said: The point of the 4-day work week is about doing less work.
- Galtenbergs said: The point of the 4-day work week is about doing less work. It’s not about 4 10-hour days for the magical 40-hour work week. It’s about 4 normalish 8-hour days for the new and improved 32-hour work week. The numbers are just used to illustrate a point. Results, not hours, are what matter, but working longer hours doesn’t translate to better results. The law of diminishing returns kicks in quick when you’re overworked.
