He is 60 but looks younger, with a body buffed by commuting 130 miles a week on his bike. He is also president of Taiwan-based Giant, the world's largest bicycle company, where sales are soaring, helped along by global anxiety over oil prices. A number of folks have pointed me to Scott McCloud’s comic debut of Google Chrome today. Scott is one of my personal sources for inspiration: I often peruse his books, looking for insights into creating awesome user experiences. I’m chuffed (and a bit jealous) that the Chrome team got to work with him. There was a particular part of the comic that people kept referring me to: page 21, which talks about the experience for ...Contribute comment -

Many people ask me many questions regarding playing video files on the computer. Some queries are about the media, some are about media players, some about subtitles, and some about hardware and projection systems.I have prepared a succinct, distilled guide to the perplexed where I cover most of the ground. I have composed it in LaTeX, since I don't like MS Word, google page creator etc. much. The downside is that it is therefore available ...Shared by srid (5)Contribute comment -

[The following is an exact transcript of this podcast.] If you’ve ever spent time with toddlers, sooner or later you’ll hear the word “Mine!” It’s usually followed by an adult saying, “Now, now, you have to learn to share.” But a study in the August 28th issue of Nature suggests we may be wasting our breath. Because kids in the preschool set have no interest in making sure everyone gets their fair share. - Pradeep said: Awesome!Have been playing with it since yesterday evening. It is most certainly the Quicksilver (http://bit.ly/1XVYsZ) of the web. And they seem to be intent on revolutionizing the way we access the web. (Also, check out Adaptive Path's video for Mozilla Labs' concept web series: http://adaptivepath.com/aurora/)Install (https://people.mozilla.com/~avarma/ubiquity-0.1.xpi) and type "command-list" to get the complete list of built-in commands.Or ubiq "command-editor" and build your own commands. May be something to 'select a text, add a note and post-to-reader'!It's also possible to embed Ubiquity commands in webpages. How will the web react? Think of the possibilities for a frequent user on a massive destination like Amazon or Yahoo! They admit that the whole thing is "messy" and "cluttered" (sample: hyphenated commands) but I can firmly say that they are heading in the right direction.Hmmm...now, about the lost mojo...[http://bit.ly/3xtnj7]
