Update to Google Chrome's terms of service (36)

The Official Google Blog (917) permalink
Whenever we release a product in beta as we just did with Google Chrome, we can always count on our users to come up with ways to improve it. This week's example: several eagle-eyed users and bloggers have expressed concern that Section 11 of Google Chrome's terms of service attempts to give us rights to any user-generated content "submitted, posted or displayed on or through" the browser. You'll notice if you look at our other products ...Shared by Adam Dempsey (13) Alexandar (7) alphakamp (21) Andrew Girdwood (33) Aneel (14) Benjamin Golub (13) Bob Caswell (15) Bonstio (11) C.K. Ranking der Olympiamediallen mal anders (1)

Qbi's Weblog (0) permalink
Where do labels come from? (1)

Andrew Ng’s keynote at ICDL 2008 was quite enjoyable. If nothing else, he has killer demos. One of the themes of the keynote was a particular view that machine learning is moving towards solving learning problems with a paucity of available labels. He quoted Geoff Hinton’s work on deep belief nets as an example of a learning algorithm that learns through experience, as opposed to learning exclusively through labels. Hinton’s arguments is that there are ...Shared by ephes (5)Contribute comment - pics/english/abra_kadabra.jpg (1)

If you use LinkedIn, then you have probably been impressed by their "People you may know" feature. I know that I have. From old friends and colleagues to an occasional person I don't necessarily want to see again, the list often contains quite familiar names.LinkedIn is basically a large graph of connections among people, enhanced with information such as company names, date of link, and so on. We can imagine how they determine whether someone ...Contribute comment - pics/9a29d349ff55.gif (1)

Comparison Shopping Engines (CSEs) are product marketing websites that display aggregated product offerings across multiple retailers. Examples include Shopping.com, Nextag.com, Shopzilla.com and PriceGrabber.com. Consumers often visit CSEs to find the most attractive offer on a product they have already determined they want to purchase. However, some consumers will also use CSEs as part of their product discovery and research process. Once on the CSE, the consumer is able to evaluate various offers from multiple retailers ...Shared by ephes (5)Contribute comment -
