Respectively introduced in the year 1886 and 1903, both Coca-Cola and Pepsi were rivals each other trying to dominate the carbonated soft drink market. Both brands were undergoing global advertisement war through print ads and video ads, trying to stay on top of each other. This weekend, we take a look into some interesting advertisements by these 2 companies. Let’s put the ethical issue aside and enjoy the creativity. Here’s more creative advertisement post we’ve ...

There has been a debate circulating the internet for a while now about standard compliance and creativity. While standards compliance is a good thing, it alone cannot be used as a measure for success. While it is a large determinant of the quality of a site’s construction, it has almost nothing to do with the effectiveness of a design. For example there are a number of websites that do validate and are utterly horrible, and ...

I think this a still from Megan Fox’s new film “How To Lose Friends and Alienate People” but I’m not too sure about that. Looks more like she had an encounter with Peter North and his homemade love pudding. Each bead in the necklace is 5 minutes. The whole necklace is one solar day. The orange and red ones represent the whole hours. As the wheel turns, one bead falls off and drops down the string every 5 minutes. You can take the necklace off the wheel whenever you wish to “stop time”.

It’s quite true about the saying - There’s no second chance at making a good first impression. Advertisement, regardless-ly online or offline, if they don’t catch your attention within seconds they are considered failed. Agencies and big corporations do not believe in ‘cool factors’ in advertisement anymore. Instead, to really stand out of the crowd, the idea has to be really out of the box, something that makes you laugh, talks about it or at ...

Some of these got smushed because I made them at my parent's house and then when I got home I dropped the box that they were in. Oops!My mom made the effort to get me a box to avoid this problem and then I managed to squish them anyway. The only one's I haven't posted are the Hurts cube (they forgot to print it!) and the dishwasher (which I just haven't made yet).September is going to ...

It nice to see that designing students are focusing on improving the mode of transport for the future city-dwellers. However not many such innovative concepts have seen day light yet. Ultra-compact cars and segway-like vehicles are trying to win over commuters but Daniel Julier wasn’t convinced and intended to come up with something that is one-of-its-kind in the world of individual urban mobility. Aiming to free us from our dependence on fuels, batteries, electric motors ...

Meta goes Micro I wouldn’t usually publish short items like this, but I like it, so here it is. FontShop has just launched a micro-site devoted to FF Meta Serif. Some interesting content, including this downloadable PDF poster: and excerpts from email correspondence between two of FF Meta Serif’s designers, Erik Spiekermann and Christian Schwartz. There’s also a copy of the FontBook up for grabs: Submit an example of something you have created with FF ...

Asmita: Having been something of a musical underachiever all my life I never really thought I could ever write and compose my own music. Fortunately for me designers Ouyang Xi, He Binbin, Zeng Li and Li Bo were thinking along the same lines and in the end had the good sense to come up with the amazing Compose Music Tablet! The musical notebook concept basically aims at allowing laymen to use the pen as a ...
