How-To: Enable All Chrome's Best Features in Firefox (201)
on
Lifehacker (5188) permalink
The internet is atwitter with Google Chrome's innovative new features, but there was no clear winner in our speed test comparing Firefox and Chrome—which means your choice of browser may depend solely on features. Apart from a few specific issues (namely process management), many of Chrome's best features are already available in Firefox 3, proving yet again the power of extensibility. From incognito browsing and the streamlined download manager to URL highlighting and improved search, ...Shared by Aaron (33) adam (715) Adam Dempsey (13) Adrian Bucher (4) AKs (164) Alek (5) Alex France (138) Alex Thomson (7) Andrew (27) Andrew Chorney (7) Andrew the Organic Maven (20) andrewcsfan (13) baixinho (25) Ben van de Sande (8) blindsurf3r (8) Bobby (10) brennanrusnell (8) Breyten (15) Bwana (62) CannonGod (190) cat_aidg (3) cesaracardoso (69) Chad (5) Chandoo (9) Charlotte Goldthwaite (3) checkpoint (14) Chris Miller (8) Christian Harrington (8) Christian Santos (59) christideli (15) Christoph Schmitz (3) Chung (111) Consiliera (4) Corvida (60) Craig (18) Cubby Brendle (8) d1g1t (278) Dan McCall (5) Dan Russell (12) Dani McDaniel (42) David Hughes (5) David.R.Gilson (9) DavidS (23) Dean Burge (10) Deirdre (6) Dino (5) dobata (324) Doni (46) Doug Stewart (10) Ed Kopp (20) Eddie Awad (1) Edo (9) egon (6) Eldon (16) Elliott (4) Eric (39) Eric Alvarado (18) Eric Daams (280) Erik Jonasson (5) Evelien (10) Eyal Rofe (8) f.shamsi (3) Felix Wong (3) Firethorn (11) Floyd Vaughn (10) gautamg (11) Gemstar38 (52) Greg Loesch (20) Greg Rosen (12) Gupfee (6) harry07 (15) hasamba (33) hoberion (11) Inetgate Writer (18) infonomada (26) Ispirato (39) Jacob (13) jahanna (5) Jake (10) Jamie Wallis (18) Jason (19) Javieerr (9) JBu92 (25) JDevL (14) Jeff Summers (1) Jeffrey Blais (33) JenM (17) Jeremy (51) Jerome (6) Jesse (5) jh2fct (11) João M (26) Joe (77) Joe Leuzzi (13) Joey Gibson (13) Johnny Software (20) jonpape (7) Jordan Griffith (4) Jorge Alvarez (3) JulioHM (30) kaala (8) Katrina (10) Keaven Freeman (6) keith (52) Kevin Federline (210) kevin oshea (9) Kim (16) Kluzter (7) Krazy (83) Kris Jaime (5) Krisalis78 (30) Kristen (180) Kyle (17) Lee G. Google Chrome Not So Lively (14)
on
TechCrunch (5454) permalink
People (well, us) are starting to put a list together of Google products that don’t play nicely with Chrome, their new Windows-only browser. First up is Google Analytics, which will doesn’t track Chrome usage separately from Firefox (why Firefox?) for now, even though other services made the change immediately. Since Chrome is a two-year project and shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone at Google, the cynic in me thinks they to wait until they ...Shared by Ahmed (53) Andrew (34) Benjamin (786) C.K. Google Chrome Press Event: The Video (17)

Google has posted their official video of the Chrome press event we live blogged earlier today. I still prefer the comic book version, but if you want to see the official presentation, there it is. Larry Page steps on stage for the last two minutes. He talks about how he’s been using Chrome on an older computer to test how it handles lower end hardware. I’ve been using Chrome today on two Vista computers - ...Shared by Alex (79) C.K. Google Chrome Can Catch Up To Firefox In Two Years (18)

TechCrunch (5454) permalink
Does Google’s new Chrome browser matter? Some people think it does. One of them is Lehman Brothers analyst Douglas Anmuth. In a note sent out on Tuesday, he predicted that Chrome would soon catch up to Firefox in market share: With Firefox having gained approximately 20% percent market share over the past 4 years, we believe Google Chrome could gain 15-20% share within 2 years. A lot of the attention so far has been on ...Shared by Ahmed (53) Alex (13) Ali (34) Amihai (20) Antony (2) Benedict Lee Zhi En (100) christideli (15) fr3dly (41) Harold (20) Mani Karthik (92) Navid (49) Netviber (10) Oliver Reichenstein (4) Ryan Kellett (6) Steve Nimmons (61) TiTi (80) tobias (14) سروش رسولی (15)- Ali said: wow

Paola Conconi, Nicolas Sahuguet, Maurizio Zanardi, 30 August 2008The democratic peace – the regularity that democracies do not go to war with each other – is one of the most robust findings in political science. This column presents recent research showing that democratic leaders unable to seek another term in office behave like autocrats. Accountability to voters in the next election lies at the heart of the democratic peace.Full Article: Democracy and accountability: The perverse ...Shared by christideli (15)Contribute comment -

Stephan Klasen, 30 August 2008Robert Barro and Steven Levitt, in their role as popular columnists, promoted a Harvard graduate student’s article which refuted Amartya Sen’s claim that discrimination accounted for the 100 million “missing women”. In his role as editor, Levitt published the article in the Journal of Political Economy. Now that the article’s central claim has been refuted – most notably by its author – it’s time to tell the ‘morality tale’. Full Article: ...Shared by christideli (15)Contribute comment -
